JOTA/JOTI day 1 in the books. Nice hike to the city outlook then our Peace Circle followed by street cleanup on the way back to the hut. Our discussion was about building a better community. Some of our answers were clean up the environment around our houses and schools, play more with friends (make new friends). Also discussed our plan for our long term project. Possibilities include collecting hygiene items for a local orphanage, a food drive for our local pantry, and/or a jacket drive for upcoming winter season. Our 1-mile hike had 20 people so we are adding 20 miles to the Hike the Planet adventure.

What a wonderful day of learning and adventure! 🐾 Our Arrow of Light Scouts spent Columbus Day together at the Opel Zoo, learning about animal conservation and how caring for animals means understanding their needs, treating them with kindness, and protecting their habitats.

Each Scout chose an animal to research and shared what they learned with the group—a fun way to build knowledge and confidence while learning from one another!

This experience was made possible by our community sponsors. Thank you, AUSA General C.W. Abrams Chapter, for supporting our Scouts and providing this wonderful opportunity!

A special thank-you to Klaus & Josie for donating these delicious cookies. It was a sweet treat to finish a memorable day! 🍪💛
