Pihla Jaala is a dancer, educator, and social worker from Finland. Rooted in contemporary dance, Pihla works as a freelancer and teaches contemporary dance, contact improvisation, and improvisation across Hessen.

Currently Pihla lives in Frankfurt am Main where she completed her Master’s degree in Contemporary Dance Education (MA CoDE) at the HfMDK Frankfurt in 2025. Before she finished her studies in Finland in 2023 in Riveria. Above that, she holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and Social Work from the University of Eastern Finland (2020).

Pihlas’ practice and approach in teaching is rooted in contemporary floorwork, breaking, improvisation, movement research, and somatic exploration. She approaches movement as an ongoing dialogue between the sensational body and social sphere. Being particularly drawn to working with gravity, softening tissues, momentum, spirals, and anatomical imagery— she explores how these forces and structures allow us to shape how the body moves, yields, and transforms.

Mira Urbassek is a contemporary dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in Frankfurt. After living in Barcelona for several years and working with different choreographers while creating her own work, she is currently finishing her MA in Contemporary Dance Education (MA CoDE).

In her work, she explores ways to bring political issues on stage by mixing dance and theatricality, balancing humor, absurdity, and tragedy — creating pieces that challenge and engage audiences.

Zoe is an Italian dancer, choreographic assistant, restager, and educator with extensive international experience across Europe. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, in November 1996, Zoe first studied ballet at the Proscaenium ballet school in Italy.

From 2012 to 2016, she trained at the Palucca University of Dance in Dresden, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. During her studies, she worked with choreographers such as Ihsan Rustem and Katharina Christl and trained in foundational dance techniques, including George Balanchine’s ballet method, Ohad Naharin’s Gaga technique, and William Forsythe’s improvisation techniques. From 2016 to 2023, Zoe was a soloist member of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company under the artistic direction of Jacopo Godani. In addition to performing in all of Godani’s creations, she collaborated with choreographers including Rafael Bonachela, William Forsythe, Marco Goecke, Saar Magal, Gustavo Gomes, and Julian Nicosia. During this time, she performed on renowned international stages such as Teatro Real in Madrid, the Stanislavsky Theater in Moscow, the Grec Festival in Barcelona, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, and Sava Center in Belgrade.

Since 2023, Zoe has been working as a freelance dancer, collaborating with Hungarian choreographer Pál Frenák on his new creation for the National Theater in Budapest. And as a restager and choreographic assistant for Jacopo Godani worldwide, collaborating with companies such as the National Serbian Theater, Compañía Nacional de Danza Madrid, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Moscow Ballet. Since 2023, Zoe also began training in Body-Mind Centering with the goal of becoming a certified Somatic Movement Educator and Practitioner. Beyond performing, she offers her expertise in artistic consulting, professional ballet training and somatic education.

Ronja Eick is a dancer and dance educator. She is currently working part-time at the Staatstheater Mainz as well as on freelance projects in the Rhine-Main region. She studied music and dance education in Salzburg and contemporary dance education in Frankfurt.
In her master’s thesis, she researched the topic of consent in contemporary dance practices. Ronja often combines elements of floorwork and (contact) improvisation in her teaching. In her artistic work, she experiments with concepts that engage with endurance and sensory perception.

Matthew Tusa, born in Australia and based in Wiesbaden since 2005, is a dancer and choreographer dedicated to deepening the experience of dance through powerful, emotional pieces that engage and inspire diverse audiences. His recent work "Lebenslicht," premiered at the Wartburg, exemplifies this commitment.

After a 14-year career as a principal dancer with renowned companies including the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Royal Swedish Ballet, Ballet Madrid, and the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, he has worked as a choreographer for opera and dance companies internationally in Austria, Germany, the USA, and Australia.

Since 2018, he creates two dance projects annually with the independent scene in Wiesbaden, supported by the Kulturamt Wiesbaden and often in collaboration with LightArtDance. He has received the "Projektstipendium Internationale Maifestspiele" (2021, 2024), a "Brückenstipendium" from the Hessische Kulturstiftung, and support from Neustart Kultur/Dachverband Tanz.

Tommaso Bertasi is an Italian freelance dancer and teacher working throughout Europe. He regularly collaborates with the Fabien Prioville Dance Company in Düsseldorf and Wuppertal, and with Hennermanns Horde in Frankfurt am Main, following previous engagements with Egri Bianco Danza in Turin. During the 2022–2023 season, he was an intern with the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company under the direction of Jacopo Godani. He has also performed with Europa Dance Company, dancing in productions by Marco Goecke and Laurent Drousie.
Tommaso studied classical and contemporary dance at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt, where he developed choreographic work with Menghan Lou, Iván Pérez Avilés, and Simon Mayer. Alongside his performance career, he teaches professional-level classes, having worked as a guest teacher at institutions such as Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf and Tanzfaktur in Cologne.

Laura Ahumada García is a South American movement artist, performer, maker, and improviser. She holds an MA in Contemporary Dance Education from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt and a BA from the London Contemporary Dance School (2016–2019).

Her career spans Chile, Brazil (performing with a dance company in São Paulo, 2014), Slovakia (Divadlo Studio Tanca, 2019–2021), and beyond. Since 2021, she has worked as a freelance dance artist and choreographer, collaborating with Tamar Grosz (Berlin), Finn Lakeberg (Tanz Mainz), Regina Rossi (Brazil–Germany), and Milena Wilke. She is co-founder of the Anhelo Collective (UK, Germany, Colombia) and has presented her solo Madre & Tierra at SommerWerft, Zukunft Tanzt (Frankfurt), the Humanography Festival (Gothenburg), Ponderosa (Brandenburg), Cordillera, Lush (Berlin), and Espacio Aquia (Santiago, Chile).

Her practice centres on decolonial and feminist approaches, accessibility, and disability awareness, with an emphasis on spontaneity, absurdity, and interconnectedness. She especially values spaces where training supports both the dancers’ rehearsal process and the wider community.

Zoe de Torres Curth is an Argentinian freelance dancer based in Mainz and founder of EDGE Dance Project e.V. She has trained and performed internationally, including with Fundación Julio Bocca in Argentina, Neglia Conservatory of Ballet and Bossov Ballet Theater in the United States, Area Jeune Ballet in Switzerland, and both Evolution Dance Plattform and EDGE Dance Project in Germany.

Her work focuses on neoclassical and contemporary dance. She is also a certified Pilates instructor and is passionate about creating supportive, professional environments for dancers — providing meaningful opportunities for artistic growth and building genuine connections with audiences.

Miyuki is a dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor based in Osnabrück, Germany. Born and raised in Yamaguchi, Japan, she trained in classical ballet and studied dance education, contemporary dance, and choreography at Ochanomizu University in Tokyo.
After working as a freelance dancer and ballet instructor in Japan, she moved to Germany, where she worked as a soloist at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Hessisches Staatsballett and Saarländisches Staatstheater.
She is currently working as a freelance with Production Moritz Ostruschnjak, Production Several Waves, Theater Osnabrück, and other projects.
