New Zealand had been on my bucket list ever since I first watched The Lord of the Rings. One day it actually happened. I sold a golden coin to pay for the flight and headed to the land of the long white cloud.
Endless roads, quiet lakes between hills, and Matamata — where Hobbiton felt like stepping into a story I already knew.
On Ninety Mile Beach, I stood barefoot on black volcanic sand. That moment became my profile picture: my foot in the sand, somewhere between arriving and moving on.
Looking back, it wasn’t just a photo. It was the first step of many journeys to come.
