Namaste, people!

Namaste Indian Association NIA e.V. and WISA are organising a Sommerfest for you all! It's a group picnic and dinner with a potluck system 🧺. For those who don't know, everyone cooks something and brings it along to share with others. Bringing a dish from your native region would be preferable, but there's no restriction on cuisines 🥘. Don't forget to bring your own plates and cutlery 🍽️. Those who don't feel like or are unable to cook something may bring drinks/snacks and/or extra plates, cutlery and glasses🍹
Along with great food, we'll also play desi music and some fun games! 💃🎶🕺

Dear all, on behalf of Namaste Indian Association, NIA e.V. and Department of Indology, Uni Würzburg we would like to invite you all on Tuesday 4th of July 2023, from 4:15 to 5:45 pm, to the event organized jointly by the Chair of Indology and Chair of English Literature and Cultural Studies.

The reading and discussion by Geetanjali Shree, who will read out from her Hindi novel Ret samādhi (Tomb of Sand). A discussion with students at the University of Würzburg and members of the Little Book Club will follow.

The event will take place in person in Lecture Hall 4, Philosophiegebäude, Am Hubland.

Geetanjali Shree, who won the 2022 International Booker Prize and the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation for her novel Tomb Of Sand (Ret Samadhi in the Hindi original), is known for her innovative use of language and structure. She has written four other novels and five collections of short stories. Her work has been translated into many languages besides English.
