Multi-perspective experiences, critical reflection, hedonism, & collaborative learning Berlin’s CTM Festival supports an open, networked, mutually-collaborative, global music culture through its yearly 10-day festival as well as countless collaborative and research initiatives, co-commissions, concerts, and other constantly-evolving formats. The 20 year-old festival stands out for its conscious pairing of daring artistic content and adventurous club experiences with an in-depth discourse programme, framing today’s sounds and music cultures within a shifting, hybrid global society.

Showcasing her new album »Ruin: It’s Not Just Music« at CTM Festival 2027 »Process...ing« in a special multi-channel spatial format, the harmonic expanses and intricate melodic ecologies of Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith’s earlier work remain, but beneath them now breakbeats and drum-and-bass patterns splinter through a dense strata of synthesis. Released via her co-founded label Someone Special, at the heart of the record combustion and reconstruction converge and consume each other endlessly, a necessary release of accumulated tension through which one world might be broken open so that another may emerge glistening.

The psyched-out aural hypnosis of Spekki Webu and Matti Vilho’s surreal visual worlds come together during the first weekend of CTM Festival 2027 in »Signal Transmutations,« a transmission from a realm where the machinery has begun to spore.

A monolithic fungus blooms as a Tree of Life, mycelium tangled with cables and glowing interfaces. Forms and the echoes of forms emerge, submerge through the subconscious to germinate as the music drifts through states of dissoluted trance, caught inside a vast biological process.

Turning toward a more immediate and intuitive compositional process, Kali Malone returns to the festival to present two radiant concerts at Gedächtniskirche of her new album »Burning Song«. Lucy Railton on cello and Stephen O’Malley on acoustic guitar join Malone’s pipe organ to play with almost singular breath. The programme will also include select compositions from Malone’s vast organ discography.

We're thrilled to present MODESELEKTOR (OFFICIAL SITE)'s new album MDSLKTR at CTM Festival 2027 in a world premiere collaboration. The album returns the duo to their foundations, digging into nearly three decades of studio sessions and unfinished ideas, renewing and repurposing them into new beginnings. The album was built through reduction, arrangements pared down to clearer structures where their propulsive power shines brighter than ever.

The Jan 24 performance CTM 2027: Modeselektor present »MDSLKTR and Guests« will be joined by a variety of the album's guests to be announced soon, including opening sets by pop-detritus jester Kabeaushè and Berlin icon Gudrun Gut. Tickets are now on sale.

Our first acts span global hardcore such as A.N.I., Evil Grimace, and NZIRIA; AV album premieres with Modeselektor, Dis Fig, and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith; performances weaving through different modes of listening, concerts and commissions exploring Resynthesising the Traditional with Kuntari, Rully Shabara, Karina Utomo; new open calls and more.

Early-bird CTM Festival passes and Connect Passes for CTM + transmediale are on sale now in limited quantities. Weekend Passes for each respective CTM Festival weekend are also on sale. Tickets to the first few events are now available, with more going on sale throughout autumn. Press accreditation is also now open.
