On Saturday, 27th, Isshindo Kan Europe United Kingdom conducted a Dan grading for students from Tanoshi Karate, where Beth and John successfully completed their Shodan grading.
Both candidates displayed a high level of technical proficiency throughout the examination, demonstrating Motobu drills, kata with practical applications, combinations on the pads, and sparring. Their dedication, skill, and determination were evident throughout the grading.
The grading panel consisted of Dietmar Schmidt Hanshi from Germany, Bubka Sensei from the UK, and Matt Dixon Sensei from the UK.
Following the grading, we held a workshop led by senior instructors from across Europe. Dietmar Schmidt Hanshi demonstrated and explained the concepts of Zendo Ryu Karate-Do, focusing on developing energy and power. Neil O'Connor Sensei introduced participants to Wado Ryu principles of self-protection and evasion, while Nick Girard Senpai led an engaging session on effective kicking techniques.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, helped, supported, and trained with us throughout the day. Events like these are only possible because of the commitment and enthusiasm of our karate community.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Bulgaria this September for our Annual International Seminar.
