The Ambassadors of Design presents an exhibition of designers from diverse practices.

Titled Emersion, it refers to the simultaneous and opposing dynamics of 'Emergence and 'Immersion' that are the conceptual and cultural points of departure. Drawing from objects and rituals of Chinese scholarly culture such as calligraphy, poetry, and ink painting, these designers have steeped themselves in the language and aesthetic of the Literati tradition to develop contemporary interpretations of the form. Atelier Poesia explores meditative practice through candle-making and calligraphic practice stones, leemeiki's demonstrates applied calligraphy and poetry on a variety of mediums, MIRO deconstructs Chinese character strokes into gesture-less stamps while mixing high and low-culture materials, Monica Tsang Designs interprets classical ink painting as porcelain form, POMCH mechanizes the traces of scholarly objects in leather, Stickyline references a scholar's garden through bamboo grove, and Uneven College collapses German and Chinese history into a digital ink scroll. Through various strategies, these practitioners re-interpret culture, medium, and form to represent the breadth of creative practice in Hong Kong.
