The Erasmus+ project 𝗔𝗜 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 helps youth (information) workers explore AI tools, assess their practical benefits and use them responsibly. Fall Preview: Heading to Vienna! 🍂🚀

While the heat is still upon us, we’re making big plans: In October 2026, our eduDanube project team will gather in Vienna! 🇦🇹 For two intensive days, the Austrian capital will become the hub for our internal methodology training.

What exactly will happen there? 25 experts from our 4 partner organizations in Germany, Austria, and Hungary will join forces. Our host will show us how to transform public spaces into interactive classrooms using Urban Games. At the same time, we’ll deepen our expertise in eduLarp with the Der Waldritter e.V. to bring political education to life. The training will be complemented by insights on global citizenship education from Anthropolis Egyesület. It’s going to be an amazing mix!

💡 This intensive exchange lays the foundation for our future eduDanube Toolbox and a prototype that combines these innovative methods and will be available to young people across Europe once the project is complete. The path forward is clear, and we’re looking forward to the next major milestone in Vienna! ✨

How does youth participation work in North Macedonia and Germany, and what can we learn from each other? 🇲🇰🇩🇪

During the job shadowing activity in Štip as part of the Cap4Youth project, we learned a lot, had a very inspiring exchange, and met some wonderful people. It was impressive to see everything that YOB and the young people on the ground have already achieved in the field of youth participation. 🙌

To bring the project team up to speed on the methods of Urban Games and edularps, we held two online workshops as part of our Erasmus+-project "edu Danube".

On May 11, 2026, the workshop focused on edularps, LARPs, game design, and the power of emotions. 🥹🤔🙃
This was followed on May 18, 2026, by a workshop from on Urban Games, demonstrating the possibilities games offer for utilizing urban spaces and how the “magic circle” can be expanded.🔎🪄

What makes youth participation meaningful in practice?

In our expert interview with Melanie Schmitt, Managing Director of the umbrella organisation of youth municipal councils in Baden-Württemberg we explored how young people engage in decision-making and what conditions make participation work.

The conversation highlighted that youth participation is already well established, but still depends strongly on political will and financial support. At the same time, barriers such as unclear structures or limited resources remain. We also discussed inclusion challenges, the role of digital tools, and how participation can empower young people to take responsibility and shape their communities.

This interview is part of Cap4Youth, an Erasmus+ project. After completing the desk research phase, including expert interviews and an online survey, the next step will be the visit of the German delegation to North Macedonia in June. The insights will feed into the further development of the project.

Writing reports is part of everyday work in many youth organisations – which it can also be time-consuming and repetitive.

In this AI Coffee Break, we will explore how AI tools that can support you in structuring information, summarising content and drafting reports more efficiently.

We’ll walk through a real-life example and show a practical workflow – from preparing your materials to generating and refining text. At the same time, we’ll reflect on what still requires human input and critical review.

No long lectures – just a practical example, open exchange and space for your questions. ☕

198 youth information workers throughout Europe show ✨

‼️ AI is already part of the daily practice in youth information work.
💪 When using AI, youth information workers focus on low-threshold tasks.
✍🏻 Main use is on writing and adapting texts (e.g. summarising information or translation).
💬 AI is also used for communication tasks. But it is limited when it comes to youth counselling. Human interaction remains central.
🇪🇺 Even though there is an uneven maturity across Europe, AI plays a strong role in accessibility and is widely adopted.
🚀 AI has high future potential, not only in youth information work.

These are first insights of our survey on AI, chatbots and ethical use conducted during March/April 2026 addressing youth information workers throughout Europe.
