Another event, another chance to shine a spotlight on our amazing volunteers! ❤️

This weekend, the American Red Cross traveled to Pulaski to support the USO at their 16th Annual Sun & Fun event. While we may have been a little short on the “sun,” the “fun” was definitely in full swing! ☀️🎉

Our outstanding volunteers, Ethan and Israel (sorry, Israel—we didn’t get a picture of you this time!), spent the day handing out candy and frozen treats to the kids while sharing information with parents about the Red Cross mission and volunteer opportunities. They even went above and beyond by helping reunite two lost children with their parents. ❤️

👏 Ethan is our true “Jack of All Trades” here at the Ramstein office. In addition to supporting outreach events like this one, he helps keep our CPR/BLS training program running smoothly by enrolling students, answering questions, and making sure the training room is ready for our instructors. And volunteering clearly runs in the family—Ethan’s mother, Jane, is also a Red Cross volunteer who helps us welcome and onboard new volunteers.

👏 Israel may be new to the Red Cross, but he is already proving to be a hard charger! In addition to participating in outreach events, he is preparing to begin volunteering in the Ramstein Clinic pharmacy. He is also an avid supporter of Airmen Against Drunk Driving and was recently recognized for his support of a joint SNCO Induction Ceremony.

We are incredibly grateful for volunteers like Ethan, Israel, and Jane who give their time, energy, and heart to support our military community. 🇺🇸❤️

Why the Red Cross Is Awesome ❤️

Because we have awesome volunteers! 🙌

Sophia is brand new to the Ramstein Red Cross office, but she’s already making a BIG impact!

Today, she helped run a snack and information table at a Back-to-School event for one of our local homeschool groups. From the moment she arrived, Sophia made it very clear that she knew exactly what she was doing—sharing helpful information with parents and handing out popsicles to the kids. 🍧📚

In fact, she was so confident and had everything so well under control that she even told Ryan, our Ramstein Office employee, that “he could wait in the car.” 😂

Ryan decided to stick around and help anyway, but it quickly became obvious that Sophia had everything handled. She provided great information, brought plenty of smiles, and helped keep more than 200 attendees refreshed with popsicles!

We’re so excited to have Sophia on the team and can’t wait to see all the amazing things she’ll do as a Red Cross volunteer.

As you may or may not know, September is Su***de Prevention Month.

Throughout September, the Ramstein Integrated Resilience Office will be hosting a variety of events designed to support and strengthen the local KMC community.

These events include workshops focused on recognizing the warning signs that someone may be struggling or contemplating su***de, learning practical skills to support someone in need, storyteller sessions featuring individuals whose lives have been impacted by su***de, and many other opportunities throughout the month.

Please see the attached flyers for additional information, including event details and schedules. We encourage you to take advantage of these valuable resources and share them with others in our community.

A new week & another new opportunity for Kaiserslautern Military Community members! In partnership with the 86th MDG Pharmacy, we are excited to announce that we are now taking applications for the Pharmacy Technician Training Program. This program is tuition-FREE and prepares students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam.
We will review applications/resumes in the beginning of September and conduct interviews during the second week. Those selected, will need to complete some onboarding and pre-class requirements prior to training starting. The training will start the week of October 19 and will go until May. This training could be the start of a new career!

🌡️☀️ Germany is heating up! ☀️🌡️

As temperatures climb across Germany, we’re all looking for ways to beat the heat! 🥵💦 For some, staying cool is easier than others.

For the dedicated men and women of the 86th Maintenance Squadron and 86th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, the mission doesn’t stop when the temperature rises. ✈️🔧 These incredible Airmen work day and night, in ❄️ snow, 🌧️ rain, ☀️ heat—and everything in between—to keep Ramstein’s C-130s flying! 🇺🇸✈️

The Ramstein Red Cross ❤️ had the privilege of spending some time with these inspiring Airmen and delivering a little relief from the heat! 🍧🧊 What better way to show our appreciation than with ice-cold popsicles on one of the hottest days of the year? 😎🍦☀️

A HUGE THANK YOU 🙌❤️ to the hardworking Airmen of the 86th Maintenance Group for everything you do to keep the mission moving! 💪🔧✈️
