Back in spring 1989, Germany was still divided, borders were still real borders, and a year abroad really meant a year abroad. It was at this time that some students from Paderborn, having had a year abroad experience, met to exchange their views. However, from these unforgettable travels came many niggling frustrations and organisational problems, such as endless lodging searches, unhelpful peopl
e, and difficulties settling in - these troubles were not rare! In order to combat these problems and to ensure exchange students a better start in Paderborn, Eurobiz was founded. The goal was simply to give people the smoothest integration into their new way of life. This was done by assisting in all the serious issues concerning the settling in process; both through moral and material support, but also through the organisation of simple fun and games. At present students university-wide are involved with Eurobiz and organise a large number of events and through their own varied personal relationships exchange students are guaranteed to meet a range of friendly and interesting people. From these encounters, friendships will arise that will outlast your time in Paderborn.
