Empowering women in India to gain financial freedom through monetary support and income generation programs. Vikram's father Vachan grew up without a father.

WIDOW'S HOPE'S vision is to help widows in India become financially independent by providing them regular monetary support so that they can take better care of themselves and their children. Also, to empower women by funding them to start income generation projects to earn a livelihood and support their families. THE STORY behind the work is directly connected to Vikram's personal experiences. He saw his widow mother struggle hard to provide for him and his siblings. He would often tell us about his childhood days and how his mother (my grandmother) worked in the fields, gathered wood, fetched water from a nearby stream, and took care of household chores all without any income or financial support. Growing up in India I have witnessed with my own eyes how hard it is for women who have lost their husbands. In recent years he has seen two of his aunts in India become widows. One of whose husband died when she was still very young and had school-going children. Then some of his friends' fathers passed away before their time. He saw first hand how this affected the women and their families. Most of these women were totally dependent on their husbands for livelihood and sustenance. Now with their only source of income cut off, they literally had to struggle to survive. You might be thinking – why don't they get a job? Well firstly many of them are not educated and have no work experience or skills. All they have done is to take care of their homes - cooking, washing, cleaning, and so on. Secondly, they don't have the confidence to step out in a male-dominated society. They feel vulnerable and weak. It's here where you and I have the opportunity to step in and encourage them by our support and help.

There are almost 50,000,000 widows in India. But there’s hardly a single organization serving them. Join Widow’s Hope to help reach as many as we can.

We teach widows practical skills, such as tailoring, cattle rearing and breeding, and baking, so they can earn a reliable income each month. Many of our trainees now bring home an extra €50-€100 a month through tailoring and bakery orders or vegetable sales, and their children are staying in school because basic needs are met. I’ve seen women who were once isolated stitch communities together, sharing tools, orders and hope. Join us in supporting proven change in India. I met Savita on a busy morning in her village. She showed me the sewing stall she launched after completing our skills training. Today, she earns 3x more than before and supports her two children with steady income. Donor-funded training and one-to-one mentorship made this possible. Your support to Widow's Hope Germany, helps women like Savita move from crisis to livelihood. Invest today in a widow and see the impact for yourself: . Join us and make an impact!

We started Widow's Hope during the COVID crisis to stand with widows when support vanished. Today we celebrate measurable change: women gaining marketable skills, launching small businesses, and improving household wellbeing through training, emotional support and market linkages. Hear their stories, see the numbers, and join us in making lasting impact.

At Widow’s Hope we’ve seen faith turn small acts into lifelines. I remember sitting with Meera as she wept, then watching her learn tailoring skills that steady her family. Our counselling, community gatherings and personalised visits grew from Christian care and kept us connected through COVID‑19 when simple phone calls and food drops mattered most. If you believe compassionate, faith‑rooted support changes lives.

We’ve seen real change when widows are given tools and training. We share three practical income paths—micro-enterprise, craft cooperatives, and agricultural initiatives—tailored for rural India, with proven results: 120+ training hours per cohort and an average earnings uplift of 35% within a year. Your support helps translate donations into vocational training, startup kits, and market access for these women. Invest today to change a widow's life. Together we can rebuild livelihoods and dignity.

Today I woke to the smell of chai and the confidence that comes from a steady routine. At Widow’s Hope in Dehradun I joined a morning skills class—sewing basics this month—where attendance rose from 6 to 18 women in three months. After lunch, child-care support let one mother finish job training; she now earns a small income and her children attend school regularly. This hands-on, faith-rooted care connects donors in Germany and the UK with real change here at home. If you are a widow or care for one, we’re here for you. From Stauffenbergstraße to a village in India — your gift becomes a lifeline. I recently watched a donation travel from a German supporter to Mrs. Sharma, a widow whose smile said more than words. “I can buy seeds and send my son to school,” she told me. A donor in Germany wrote, “Knowing exactly where my support goes gives me peace.” We share photos, receipts and regular updates so you see the impact your kindness makes. I remember the first letter from a supporter in Germany—he sent practical advice and a small fund for schoolbooks. A donor from the USA followed with a care package and a promise to visit. Those gestures changed everything: my children had supplies, our meals were steadier, and I felt seen again. Widow’s Hope connects you with real people who stand with you, hand in hand, across continents. Read more and join our family: https://wix.to/YuQN89P

We connect you directly with a woman in India so you see exactly how your support helps. Through our matching process, we pair a supporter in Germany with a widow, share her profile, and keep you updated at every step. You’ll receive proof points — photos, progress notes — showing how funds are exactly used.

Last month one supporter funded a sewing machine and a warm blanket; we delivered the gift, sent a short video of her smile, and later shared the local trainer’s report showing new income from tailoring. That’s the kind of transparent, personal impact we promise.

We manage local logistics, partner with trusted field teams, and translate every donation into clear, measurable outcomes. Join us in making a direct difference — see how your gift changes a life.
