Ein Farbenfrohes Geschenk 🌈
Zum 555. Geburtstag von Albrecht Dürer entstand eine farbenprächtige Neuinterpretation seines berühmten Rhinocerus: Die kolumbianische Künstlerin Liliana Martinez übertrug das weltbekannte Nashorn in leuchtende Acrylfarben und verband dabei Dürers Bildsprache mit den intensiven Farbwelten und kulturellen Einflüssen Lateinamerikas.
Martinez stammt aus einer Künstlerfamilie; ihr Großvater Efraim Martinez prägte sie früh als Maler und Lehrer. Ihre Werke kreisen um den kulturellen Reichtum Kolumbiens und die außergewöhnliche Natur Lateinamerikas. Besonders wichtig ist ihr dabei der direkte kreative Austausch mit dem Publikum – häufig malt sie live während Ausstellungen und lässt Besucherinnen und Besucher am Entstehungsprozess teilhaben.
Martin Glöckner und Petra Krischke, beide im Vorstand der Albrecht-Dürer-Haus-Stiftung, nahmen das Gemälde frisch entgegen. Das Werk wird einen würdigen Platz in der Sammlung der Stiftung finden.

A colourful gift 🌈
To mark the 555th anniversary of Albrecht Dürer’s birth, a colourful reinterpretation of his famous *Rhinocerus* has been created: the Colombian artist Liliana Martinez has rendered the world-famous rhinoceros in vibrant acrylics, blending Dürer’s visual language with the intense colour palettes and cultural influences of Latin America.
Martinez comes from a family of artists; her grandfather, Efraim Martinez, had a formative influence on her early on as a painter and teacher. Her works revolve around the cultural richness of Colombia and the extraordinary natural world of Latin America. Direct creative exchange with the audience is particularly important to her – she often paints live during exhibitions, allowing visitors to witness the creative process.
Martin Glöckner and Petra Krischke, both members of the board of the Albrecht Dürer House Foundation, were delighted to receive the painting. The work will take its rightful place in the foundation’s collection.
