The objective of the Amara Foundation is to improve the living conditions of the people in Myanmar by means of sustainable and long-term development assistance. The Amara Foundation has been active in Myanmar since 2008 as a non-political, independent and wholly private relief organisation. Since 2012 Amara has been registered as a local NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation). The building of hospita
ls and schools, the setting up of a mobile clinic, the employment and training of physicians, nurses and teachers are just a few examples of the numerous projects we have been able to initiate and implement here over the past few years with expert local employees. For the future we plan to expand our medical network in order to meet more effectively to the population's basic needs, and intend to create urgently needed education possibilities via the construction and upkeep of primary and secondary schools, as well as adult education programmes. In Germany, the Amara Foundation e.V. is recognized as a non-profit organisation. Charitable donation receipts can be issued.
