Thursday, July 31 – Theoretical Neurosciences

Today was all about bridging theory, computation, and creativity! From neural dynamics to artistic expression, here’s what we explored:

• 🧠 Prof. Dr. Wiktor Młynarski – Theoretical Neurosciences
• 👁️ Prof. Dr. Alexander Borst – How Neurons Compute the Direction of Visual Motion
•💻 PD Dr. Kay Thurley – Modeling Single Neurons
• 🎨 Dr. Enya Weidner & dennis aycicek (EDGE Berlin) – NeuroArt Workshop

Thanks to all speakers for an inspiring and thought-provoking day! 🙏
Stay tuned for a separate post on the NeuroArt Student Exhibition 👀✨

🧠 Wednesday, July 30 – Biomedical Neurosciences

Today was a deep dive into the brain from space! 🌌

🚀We explored how microgravity affects brain function with Prof. Dr. Peter zu Eulenburg, followed by an exciting hands-on fMRI session with his team 🧲🧠.

🤖In the afternoon, Dr. Virginia Flanagin guided us through the future of medicine with her talk on AI and machine learning in biomedical research.

We wrapped up with a practical and insightful soft skills session on how to shine in poster and oral presentations, led by our PhD students 🎤📊

A big thank you to all our amazing speakers for inspiring and engaging us today! 🙏

See you tomorrow…

🧠 Day 2: Systems Neurosciences in Action!

Today we explored how the brain hears, sees, and grows from songbirds to visual circuits, and even life in the womb. 🎶👁️🍼

A huge thank you to our amazing speakers:
🔹 Pablo Izquierdo Ayala
🔹 Prof. Dr. Laura Busse
🔹 Dr. Anthi Krontira

And thank you to our incredible panelists for sharing their career journeys during the soft skills session! 💬🔬

We ended the day with some fun and connection during the social activity, the Neurocamp energy keeps growing! ✨

🧠✨ Neurocamp :Day 1! ✨🧠
Science, curiosity, and brainpower in action!

🎤 Prof. Dr. Myoga
How do neurons really talk? A glimpse into brain communication and the difference between real and artificial intelligence.

⚡ Prof. Dr. Harbauer
Why are mitochondria the brain’s power stations and what happens when they fail?

🧬 Dr. Pilz
Yes, adults can grow new brain cells! Learn how stem cells help us learn, remember, and adapt.

💼 Soft Skills Workshop
CVs, job interviews, and how to tell your story like a pro.

A huge Thank you to our speakers of today!

📸 Stay tuned…more science to come!
