🎭 This Wednesday: A haunting portrait of a generation that lost its moral compass, brought to life on stage.
We invite you to a staged reading of Ödön von Horváth’s "Youth Without God," a novel that speaks with unsettling urgency across the decades.
Published in exile in 1937, it follows a teacher who watches his students learn to think in terms of race and obedience rather than compassion and truth. He stays silent, and in his silence becomes complicit. When one of his students dies, his indifference shatters, and he must confront what it truly means to look away in the face of injustice.
Two voices, Peter Kendall Clark and Aidan Cummins, bring selected passages to life: the detached perspective of the narrator and the voices of young people caught between ideology and inner emptiness. Cellist Tamar Sagiv accompanies the reading with her own original compositions.
An evening of theater, music, and reflection, as relevant today as when it was written.
