🌱 Mangroven gehören zu den wichtigsten Ökosystemen der Erde, neben dem Regenwald.
Sie schützen Küsten, fördern die Biodiversität und binden große Mengen CO₂. Gleichzeitig schaffen Wiederaufforstungsprojekte Arbeitsplätze und Perspektiven für die Menschen vor Ort.
Genau diese Verbindung, Klimaschutz und lokale Lebensgrundlagen zusammenzudenken, ist Teil dessen, wofür unsere Arbeit steht.
Eines unserer Kernprojekte ist die Unterstützung des Malizia Mangrove Park, ein Wiederaufforstungsprojekt auf den Philippinen, gegründet von Hochsee-Segler Boris Herrmann und Team Malizia, der Mama Earth Foundation. und Andreas Müller-Hermann/ Meaalofa Foundation.
Das Ziel: 5.000.000 Mangroven in Mati und Bagange, Davao Oriental, zu pflanzen.
Vor Ort arbeiten wir eng mit den lokalen Universitäten, den Frauen Verbänden der Fischer, die das Sammeln, die Heranzucht der Setzlinge und das Pflanzen selbstständig organisieren, und weiteren Partnern zusammen. Die Universität berät bei den Pflanzungen, überwacht und dokumentiert das Pflanzen und später das Heranwachsen der Mangroven. Mit dabei sind immer Studenten, die verschiedenen Aufgaben bei diesen Prozessen übernehmen. Dadurch können wir das gesamte Projekt steuern, überwachen und festhalten, was passiert ist, und somit die volle Transparenz herstellen.

🌱 Mangroves are among the most important ecosystems on Earth, alongside the rainforest. They protect coastlines, support biodiversity, and bind large amounts of CO₂. At the same time, reforestation projects like this one create jobs and opportunities for local communities.
This connection, bringing climate action and local livelihoods together, is exactly what our work stands for.
One of our core projects is supporting the Malizia Mangrove Park, a reforestation project in the Philippines, founded by ocean racing sailor Boris Herrmann and TEAM MALIZIA, the Mama Earth Foundation, Inc., and Andreas Müller-Hermann / Meaalofa Foundation.
The goal: plant 5,000,000 mangroves in Mati and Bagange, Davao Oriental.
On site, we work closely with the local universities, the women's associations of the fishermen, who independently organize the collecting, raising of seedlings, and planting, and other partners. The university advises on the plantings, monitors and documents the planting and later the growth of the mangroves. Students are always involved, taking on various tasks in these processes. This way, we can manage the entire project, keep track of what happens, and ensure complete transparency.
