CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS 📢

We are calling young peacebuilders from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Italy, Germany, and Spain to join the next chapter of Amani Pamoja – Peace Together: a cross-continental training course on advocacy and dialogue skills for peace.

During the training, you will:
🕊️ Strengthen your skills in peace advocacy and policy dialogue
🕊️ Explore how young people can influence decisions related to peace and security
🕊️ Learn more about the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda
🕊️ Exchange experiences and approaches with young peacebuilders from six countries
🕊️ Develop skills for social and political advocacy on peace issues
🕊️ Build meaningful partnerships within an intercontinental learning alliance
🕊️ Practice engaging political representatives and participating in decision-making spaces

📍 Where: Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain
📅 When: 27 November–3 December 2026, including travel days
💻 Online meetings: Three meetings during October and November
👥 Participants: 30 young peacebuilders from six African and European countries

Who can apply?

You should:
✨ Be between 18 - 29 years old (Europe), 18 - 35 years old (Africa)
✨ Be legally resident in , , , , , or
✨ Be part of a youth-led or youth-focused group or organisation
✨ Have at least a B2 level of English
✨ Be motivated to apply the learning within your organisation or community

Priority will be given to young people who have had limited opportunities to participate in international exchange programmes or who face barriers to accessing such activities.

💸 Travel, accommodation, food, local transport, and training materials are covered through the Erasmus+ grant. Please note that some additional expenses, such as visa fees or specific insurance coverage, may not be fully covered.

"BORDERS DON'T EXIST IN REALITY”

It is a simple sentence. Yet after spending time together in Mombasa, it carried so much meaning.

24 young people from Germany, Kenya, Spain, Tanzania, Italy, and Uganda came together not because we all shared the same experiences, but because we were curious enough to listen to each other.

At Peace Up!, and YPAN, we believe that peacebuilding starts with relationships.

Policies matter. Knowledge matters. Skills matter. But none of them happen without trust.

During our first in-person Amani Pamoja Youth Exchange, we experienced what becomes possible when young people are given space to meet as peers, exchange best practices, reflect together and simply be human with one another. Because young people are not only the future of peacebuilding, they are already building peace every day in their communities. Sometimes what they need is the opportunity to connect, exchange experiences and realise that many of the challenges they face are shared across borders.

One participant shared:

"This was the most horizontal activity I attended."

Another said:

"It is a privilege to see how much good work people are doing."

And another participant added:

"We were together only a few days, and we could change everything. Borders don't exist in reality."

These conversations reminded us that meaningful youth participation is not about inviting young people into existing spaces. It is about creating spaces that belong to them.

The Youth Exchange in Mombasa was the first in-person step of the two-year Amani Pamoja partnership, bringing together organisations from Germany, Kenya, Spain, Tanzania, Italy, and Uganda that believe young people are already shaping more peaceful societies.

TOOLKIT FOR YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND REHABILITATION 💫

We are happy to introduce you to the newest toolkit within our partnership project "Youth Work for Rehabilitation Young People Affected by War" 📚

The project Youth Work for Rehabilitation of Youth Affected by War is a project born out of a pressing need, written between February and March 2022 from the proposal and initiative of the Ukrainian partner Center for Euroinitiatives 🤗 and lead by Centro Studi Sereno Regis 🤗

We have been pleased to present the toolkit during the workshop that took place in April in Berlin, Germany.
