🏎️🔥 Simulations are one thing — validating them on a professional brake dyno is where the real engineering begins. Huge thanks to for supporting this project and making these tests possible! 🤝
This study project focused on the thermal optimization of Formula Student brake discs, analyzing how different geometries such as drilled patterns, slots, and varying material distributions influence temperature behavior, cooling performance, and thermal durability. Multiple concepts were investigated through transient thermal simulations and later validated under real dynamometer conditions at LINK Engineering using thermal imaging and defined braking cycles. 🌡️⚙️
To enable the testing, a custom adapter interface for the LINK test benches was additionally designed and manufactured — turning simulation results into real-world engineering experience. 🛠️
Thank you LINK Engineering for the collaboration and support throughout the project! 🚀
