🎉Exploring AI for NGOs in Athens!

IMKKA successfully hosted Workshop #3 of the Erasmus+ project AI-NGO HUB on 12 March 2026, bringing together NGO professionals, volunteers, and practitioners for an interactive, hands-on session on the practical use of Artificial Intelligence.
Over the course of the workshop, participants:
-Discovered real-life AI applications for NGO work.
-Explored tools for communication, reporting, and planning.
-Worked in groups to design AI-supported solutions to real challenges.
-Reflected on ethical use, data protection, and responsible AI adoption.

With 20 participants engaged, the session created a dynamic space for learning, discussion, and innovation — helping NGOs take their first concrete steps towards integrating AI into their daily operations.

Together with our partners .s.l and , we have worked to drive the digital transformation of small and medium-sized NGOs, which carry out essential work for our communities every day 💪❤️

AI NGO HUB | NEW RESULT 🚀
AI in civil society is no longer “the future.” It’s happening now.

With AI NGO HUB, we have completed a new output designed to make AI accessible, ethical, and useful for NGOs, youth initiatives, and local communities. The goal is simple: help nonprofit organisations use AI not just as a tech trend, but as a tool for real social impact.

What does this include?
• Practical AI tools guide for NGO workers and volunteers
• Ethical & safe use of AI in communication and data
• Data-driven decision models to understand community needs better
• Training modules to build internal digital capacity

Why is this important?
Because access to technology is now directly connected to social justice, inclusion, employability, and equal opportunity.
AI cannot remain in the hands of only big companies. Civil society needs to be part of it — locally, socially, responsibly.

This work is delivered together with BEFuN Institute, IMKKA, Inercia Digital and our partners, and co-funded by the European Union.

The AI NGO HUB project aims to enhance the digital transformation of non-governmental organizations by integrating Artificial Intelligence into their daily operations.

The project focuses on:
• Identifying key NGO functions that can benefit from AI.
• Creating a user-friendly digital library to guide NGOs in selecting and applying AI tools effectively.
• Strengthening the digital literacy of NGO staff and volunteers through specialized training to boost confidence and competence in using AI technologies.

Co-funded by the European Union, this initiative is implemented by Inercia Digital (Spain), BEFuN Institute (Germany), and IMKKA Institute (Greece), working together to promote innovation, efficiency, and digital inclusion in the NGO sector.

Our EU-🇪🇺funded project, which aims to enhance academic freedom at the policy level, has officially begun with BEFUN as a proud partner!

As the first step of the project, we organized a training session titled “What is Academic Freedom?” with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faik Tanrıkulu, Director of Befun Institute.
During the session, we explored the theoretical framework, historical development, and current practices of academic freedom in depth.

📣 We’re thrilled to announce that MedLit – Developing media literacy in adult oncology patients has just been awarded the prestigious “Good Practice” label on the Erasmus+ Results Platform! 🎉

What does “Good Practice” mean in Erasmus+?

Independent evaluators of the European Commission reserve this label for projects that:

- Deliver measurable, sustainable impact for target groups and the wider community
