🦋 Die Spanische Flagge ist der Schmetterling des Jahres 2025 🐛

Heute wurde es bekannt gegeben: der auffällige Nachtfalter, die Spanische Flagge (Euplagia quadripunctaria), ist der Schmetterling des Jahres 2025. Die BUND NRW Naturschutzstiftung und die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Rheinisch-Westfälischer Lepidopterologen e. V. haben den Nachtfalter gemeinsam gewählt, wie es in einer heute erschienenen Pressemitteilung heißt.

Wie passend, dass in unserer Zeitschriftenreihe des LWL-Museums für Naturkunde, den „Abhandlungen“, dazu ein spannender Artikel von Lars Poorthuis, Sofie Beckerbauer (Münster), Armin Dahl (Haan) & Jan Ole Kriegs (Münster) erschienen ist. Er lautet „Die Spanische Flagge Euplagia quadripunctaria (PODA, 1761): Verlauf der Ausbreitung einer wärmeliebenden Art in Deutschland mit besonderem Fokus auf Nordrhein-Westfalen.“

In der Publikation erfahrt ihr mehr über diesen Nachtfalter und seine Ausbreitung. Darin wurden zahlreiche ehrenamtlich erhobene Funde ausgewertet, die vor allem auf Observation.org und über die App ObsIdentify gemeldet wurden.
