🇪🇺 EU-funded PROBIO project supports the celebration of the International Day of Biological Diversity in Liberia 🐵🦇🐌🐛🦋🦂🐘🌳🌿🌱
Through the EU-funded #𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗜𝗢 project, the proudly supported the major national celebration of the International Day of Biological Diversity in Monrovia. Under this year’s theme, “Acting Locally for Global Impact,” the event brought together over 1,000 students, conservationists, and policymakers at the University of Liberia to advocate for sustainable environmental practices.
The energetic celebrations featured interactive panel discussions with students from five universities; dynamic radio programs and street quizzes; cultural performances by the ex-bushmeat sellers’ drama team and ; as well as high-level remarks from the EU delegation and members of the diplomatic corps.
Keynote speaker Michael F. Garbo — Executive Director of Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia ( ) urged all Liberians to act decisively so that the country's rich biodiversity is preserved for future generations.
The PROBIO project is implemented by the Wild Chimpanzee Foundation in close collaboration with the ( ), Society for the Conservation of Nature of Liberia ( ), and others.
