We are Sam and Kristy, two travel addicts, animal lovers and anti poaching enthusiasts. Our goal for the next 12 months is to travel through Africa and to make a difference in the lives of animals that suffer because of human mistreatment and abuse. We mainly want to focus on two types of animals:
1. Those on street whose number is high
2. Those near extinction because of human greed and disresp
ect for nature. How will we contribute:
1. With our own hands - this is to help to rescue, rehabilitate, feed, monitor and release injured or orphaned animals
2. By collecting donations for those who are in need of financial resources to keep doing their admirable work. The money raised will help us tremendously with the costs of the volunteering fees which are very high. It is often thought that volunteering is free but that's not the case when it comes to wildlife. It takes time, effort and knowledge to show new people around and this has to be considered. We plan to start our journey on 1st October. We are going to travel overland on our motorbike from London to South Africa and from South Africa to Egypt. In total, we should pass through about 25 countries, depending on the political situation and general safety. The money raised will NOT be used for an expensive holiday or fancy hotels, we are going to carry our own tent, eat from stalls and live as economically as possible. This is not the safest trip and we well considered the potential danger, still this is what we want to do. This is the biggest volunteering project we have ever decided to take on and we hope it will enrich many lives along the way. We are currently working on our website where you will be able to see the list of countries we will volunteer in, names of confirmed charities, photos and our progress. We would like you to know how grateful we will be for any kind of donation as every contribution will allow us to help more. We believe that every person can make a difference. Thank you.
