We are thrilled that Brussels’based performer/dancer Suzie BABIN @ will share her piece “I WILL” at COUP\E Container #6, Sunday, October 11, “I WILL” is above all, a promise made to oneself—a vow to dare, to surprise oneself, and to plunge into the unknown.
Suzie Babin invites us into her unique world—hovering between cabaret, dance-theater, and clowning—where she unfolds a magnetic solo performance exploring the multiplicity of the self and the power dynamics that both shape and constrain us. Drawing on drag king aesthetics, she initiates a process of transformation: a dive into different “skins” to summon her various alter egos. From icon to deconstruction, from struggle to ecstasy, Suzie Babin probes our paradoxes in a raw, fluid quest for self-discovery.
Originally from Brittany, France, Suzie Babin is a contemporary dancer, performer, drag king, and emerging choreographer of her first Suzie trained at La Manufacture de Vendetta Mathea and obtained her Technical Aptitude Exam in Jazz Dance from CEFEDEM.Since 2014, Suzie Babin has collaborated as a dancer with choreographers and companies from diverse backgrounds, including Tango Sumo, Bernardo Montet, Taoufiq Izeddiou, Ingrid Von Wantoch Rekowski, the Migr’Art collective, Serge Aimé Coulibali, and Salia Sanou. Suzie Babin also collaborated with director Franck Ternier on the short film “Riot” and with Fleuves on the music video “Me’zo Ganet eKreiz Ar Mor.” In 2021, Suzie joined the first cohort of the Master’s program in Dance & Choreographic Practices, a joint initiative of Charleroi Danse, La Cambre, and INSAS. During her choreographic research, she discovered her Drag King, “Leo Dick’capricio.” She performs her Drag King in various q***r venues between Brussels and Paris (Playback, Gender F**k
Show, Queeriosity, Cabaret Mortel de Colette Colerette, The Agenda Sassy cabaret, etc.).

MONOSUM (Bristol, UK) is a dubbed out noise-pop crew, playing heavy-hitting, deep-bass compositions born of improvisation, leaning towards the dark and ethereal.
A multi-limbed creature, bending and blurring the lines between dubwise electronics and playful storytelling.

“Supergroup, perhaps? Bristol’s finest, most definitely...

This Megazord of musical magic comes from the hearts and minds of Grove , t l k , BIPED , EJ:AKIN .akin and O’Lenahan

All established artists in their own right, this project only cements their capabilities as performers and acutely aware and intentional improvisers. Deep, heavy hitting and dubbed-to-heaven...” Elevator Sound
