Die Wasser 3.0 gGmbH ist ein im Mai 2020 gegründetes non-profit Unternehmen, das durch die Verknüpfung von high-tech Materialien und low-tech Verfahren in Verbindung mit systemischer Perspektive neue Wege für den Umwelt- und Gesundheitsschutz in der (Ab-)Wasserreinigung aufzeigt. Im Fokus stehen flexible, kosten- und energieeffiziente Lösungen für die Entfernung von Mikropl

astik und Mikroschadstoffen aus Wässern. Entsprechend des Selbstverständnisses als Sustainability Entrepreneur handelt die Wasser 3.0 gGmbH Sektoren-übergreifend mit dem Ziel, messbare Beiträge zu den UN-Nachhaltigkeitszielen in den Bereichen verantwortungsbewusste Forschung, Green Innovation und nachhaltige Bildung zu leisten.

We didn't expect this.

This summer, extreme sport meets environmental science. 🌊

A swimmer. 2,850 km. 10 countries. One mission: mapping microplastics across the entire Danube — from source to delta.

The EU Parliament just passed its Water Framework Directive reform in March 2026. Microplastics will only be added to official monitoring watchlists once reliable measurement methods exist. The Commission has 18 months to develop them.

That's exactly what we're building. Comparable, reproducible data — because data that can't be compared can't drive policy.

What gets measured gets regulated.

🔬 Out in the field! Our Ambassador and activist Daniel hit the waters of Mannheim to collect microplastic samples along the Rhine and Neckar rivers. 🌊

As part of our education project MIKROPLASTIK-DETEKTIVE support by .on_foundation, we are currently researching microplastic hotspots together with pupils and Citizen Scientists.

🔬 Science in action! Our researcher Oleg hit the streets of Mannheim to collect water samples — and took you along for the ride! 🎥💧

He's on a mission to track down microplastics in local waterways and sent a special video message to the students of IGMH, who will soon become real-life Microplastic Detectives themselves. 🕵️‍♂️🔍

120 students. 40 water samples. One goal: fighting microplastic pollution through Citizen Science!
