From the words of Bro. Keith Taylor- Iota Gamma Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated 🤘🏿:
Black American/African American history is an inseparable part of American history!
Today, Phi Beta Sigma, Inc., in collaboration with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., had the profound privilege of laying a memorial wreath in Wereth, Belgium, to honor the eleven heroic African American soldiers of the 333rd U.S. Field Artillery Battalion. These men displayed extraordinary courage and resilience during World War II, enduring unimaginable suffering and ultimately paying the ultimate sacrifice when they were murdered by the German SS after their surrender on the second day of the Battle of the Bulge. Their legacy serves as a powerful reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom, and we are committed to ensuring their stories are never forgotten.
I strongly urge everyone to delve into the compelling story of the Wereth Eleven. Their sacrifice is a powerful testament to their enduring legacy and strength. They put their country first when it failed to put them first. We must not forget!
