Another ESC year is coming to an end 💛🌍

This year, our 2025/26 ESC volunteers brought so much energy, creativity and international spirit to Eurowerkstatt and to Jena. Together with people from the city, they created beautiful moments through events like our Book Club, Crochet Club, Italian Night and Spanish Night.

And this year was especially meaningful for us, as we also celebrated 20 years of Eurowerkstatt! For two decades, Eurowerkstatt has been a place for international exchange, volunteering, encounters and new friendships, and this year’s volunteers became part of that story.

Thank you to all our ESC volunteers for everything you shared with us and with Jena: your ideas, your cultures, your time, your laughter and your enthusiasm. We are very happy that you spent this year with us, and we wish you all the best for everything that comes next.

💛 Goodbye to our ESC Volunteers 2026/27! 💛

It’s time to say goodbye to our amazing ESC volunteers. Thank you for choosing to spend this year with us in Jena and for bringing your energy, ideas, cultures, and personalities into our community.

We are very grateful for all the moments we shared and for everything you contributed during your time here. We hope you leave Jena with many great memories, new friendships, and experiences that will stay with you for a long time.

A big thank you as well to everyone who joined our farewell party on Saturday and helped us give the volunteers a wonderful send-off!

We wish all of you the very best for your next adventures, and remember: you are always welcome back in Jena! 💛

Looking Back, Moving Forward 💙🌍
Our ESC Return Seminar brought together volunteers with one thing in common: a story to tell.
After months spent abroad, it was time to pause and look back — at the people we met, the places that became familiar, the unexpected challenges, the little victories, and everything that changed along the way.
The seminar was filled with personal stories, honest conversations and plenty of moments of recognition: “I felt exactly the same!” ✨
Hearing how each volunteer experienced their project reminded us that no two ESC journeys are alike. Yet every experience leaves something behind — new perspectives, skills, friendships and memories that continue long after returning home.
Thank you to everyone who shared their story and helped make the seminar such a meaningful moment of connection. 🇪🇺💫
Here’s to everything you’ve experienced, everything you’ve learned, and all the adventures still ahead! 🚀

Spanish Night 🇪🇸

What an amazing evening celebrating Spanish culture at our Spanish Night event! Our Spanish volunteers prepared a delicious selection of traditional dishes, giving everyone the chance to experience the flavors of Spain.

Guests enjoyed homemade empanadas, Spanish tortilla, banderillas, croquetas, gazpacho, allioli with bread, pan con tomate, arroz con leche, and crema catalana.

A huge thank you to our Spanish volunteers for their hard work, dedication, and for bringing a taste of Spain to our community. It was a wonderful opportunity to share traditions, culture, and great food together.

Tag der Vielfalt⭐️

For Tag der Vielfalt, we painted stones together with everyone from Jena. Each stone carries a small message of diversity, connection and openness.

The idea is simple: people can take a stone with them when they travel and place it somewhere else in the world. In this way, our stones will continue their journey beyond Jena, promoting geographical mobility, cultural exchange and the feeling that we are all connected across borders.

One stone, many journeys. 🌍✨

Last Saturday we celebrated the Italian night in Eurowerkstatt to share the culture and the cuisine 🇮🇹

Thank you our volunteers Giulietta, Chiara and Fiore for cooking traditional dishes! They prepared bruschetta, some italian snacks, melanzane alla parmigiana and tiramisu.
