We are the local section of the pan-European Erasmus Student Network at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena. Founded in 1996, we are a non-profit association dedicated to improving the integration of international students and in
tercultural tolerance in Thuringia. We want to make it easier for international students to start their life here in Jena and to bring foreign and local students together. In this way, we want to encourage everyone to study abroad and have this amazing experiences! We organize various cultural events every semester. Both German and foreign students are welcome at our events. The members of ESN Jena are mostly students who volunteer for the main mission of ESN: students helping students! We are all unified by the desire to shape and present Jena as a friendly, cosmopolitan and interculural city! We have a cute mascot called Frida! ⊛ Welcome Weeks: In cooperation with the International Office, the Int.Ro and further groups we are organizing Welcome Weeks during the arrival period of each semester. A varied program with cultural activities as well as workshops on academic life and other things is designed to help newly arrived students find their way in Jena..
⊛ Tourism: Germany is as big as it is diverse, so we offer day and weekend trips.
⊛ Events: We organize parties in every semester.
⊛ Social Erasmus: Each semester we offer opportunities for students in Jena to get closer to the local communities. Reach higher! Go further! Be social!
⊛ Mov'in Europe: We are present at various info days to promote mobility and inform about opportunities to go abroad.
