Following our participation with Palm Press at this year’s „Miss Read 2026“ Miss Read at Silent Green in Berlin, and ahead of our upcoming participation at „Between Books 2026“ at Kunsthalle Düsseldorf Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, ad/ad continues its thematic focus on artistic publishing practices for this year’s „Zinnober“ weekend ZINNOBER-Hannover.

Our temporary „Palm Press Art Book Lounge“ installation invites visitors to browse a curated selection of publications — from the Palm Press publishing program, closely tied to ad/ad’s exhibition activities and a focus on artists living and working in Hannover, alongside a broader selection of books exploring „publishing as artistic practice“ and „independent self-publishing“.

Accompanying this, a curated screening presents a compilation of selected photobooks by a range of artists and photographers.

With “Palm Press – Launch Lounge”, the ad/ad – Project Space is pleased to initiate a format that combines “pop-up exhibitions” with the launch of publications.

In the exhibition “Baby don’t hurt me,” Max Meyer turns to the fence as an aesthetic element — a motif that oscillates between boundary and ornament and shapes the image of German front yards and gardens. Using Window Color, that material situated between childhood craft practice and petit-bourgeois decoration, Meyer appropriates this iconography and returns painting to the kitchen table. The works are characterized by a formal lightness that, however, shifts at the moment the material is applied to canvas into a permanent, irreversible gesture and statement, recontextualizing the originally temporary use of Window Color into a painterly medium.

The exhibition is accompanied by the publication “Max Meyer – Finger im Gitter für immer (Fingers in the fence forever),“ which takes up motifs, engravings, and text fragments from the show and carries them forward into an independent format.
It is published by Palm Press in a limited print run and is the fourth entry in the „Palm Press Pocket“ series.
