Healthcare should not depend on geography.

In spring 2026, Medical Solidarity International e. V. is launching a three-month mobile healthcare pilot project on the Greek island of Leros.

More than 1,000 people currently live inside the Closed Controlled Access Centre (CCAC). Access to reliable, low-threshold primary healthcare remains limited — while medical needs are significant.

We are responding with a flexible, mobile set-up operating directly from our vehicle. The project will provide:

Basic primary healthcare

Triage and first medical assessment

Referral to local health structures

Close coordination with our Greece/Kos team

We are currently building the team:

1 Medical Coordination Support (3 months, paid position)

2 Medical Volunteers (minimum 3 weeks)

You will work in a small, highly collaborative setting where flexibility, strong communication and mutual support are essential.

Im Frühjahr 2026 startet Medical Solidarity International e. V. ein dreimonatiges Pilotprojekt zur mobilen Gesundheitsversorgung auf der griechischen Insel Leros.

Derzeit leben mehr als 1.000 Menschen in dem geschlossenen Camp (CCAC). Der Zugang zu einer zuverlässigen, niedrigschwelligen medizinischen Grundversorgung ist nach wie vor begrenzt – während der medizinische Bedarf erheblich ist.

Bewerbungen werden fortlaufend geprüft.
Da wir ein kleines Team sind, können wir möglicherweise nicht auf jede Bewerbung einzeln antworten.

No one should be left alone with their trauma.
Many refugees suffer from PTSD – caused by war, flight, and rejection in their host countries. Instead of finding care and hope, they often face new borders.

Through our *WeCare project, Medical Solidarity International provides online-based psychosocial support in 10 languages for people in Germany who otherwise have no access to help.

From today, Medical Volunteers International e.V. becomes Medical Solidarity International e.V. 🌍

Since our founding, we have been advocating for medical care and humanitarian support at Europe’s borders – and beyond. 🚑🤝 Our work is no longer just about volunteering, but about lived solidarity with people in need.

The term "Volunteers" focused on individual initiatives – but we act together, in solidarity, and as equal partners. 💫 With our new name, we make it clear: it’s all about international solidarity.

We hope you’re as excited as we are about this important step – warmly welcome to Medical Solidarity International e.V.!

Der Begriff "Volunteers" betonte Einzelinitiativen – wir handeln aber partnerschaftlich, solidarisch und auf Augenhöhe. 💫 Mit unserem neuen Namen zeigen wir klar: es geht um internationale Solidarität.

Στον δρόμο, το “φαρμακείο” δεν είναι ράφι με κουτιά. Είναι μια τσάντα, λίγα γάντια, επιδέσμοι, αντισηπτικά και άνθρωποι που νοιάζονται. Στις βάρδιες μας με τους γιατρούς, προσφέρουμε όπου χρειάζεται όχι μόνο φάρμακα, αλλά και κάτι εξίσου σημαντικό: χρόνο, προσοχή, φροντίδα.

Ένα χάπι για τον πονοκέφαλο, μια οδηγία για ένα τραύμα, μια λέξη ανακούφισης. Μικρές κινήσεις που φανερώνουν ότι η υγεία δεν είναι πολυτέλεια, αλλά δικαίωμα για όλους, ακόμα και στον δρόμο.

Ξέρουμε ότι δεν μπορούμε να λύσουμε όλα τα προβλήματα της χρήσης. Μπορούμε όμως να θυμίζουμε ότι ο πόνος δεν είναι ντροπή, και πως η ανακούφιση μπορεί να έρθει και μέσα από τη φροντίδα.

Σε συνεργασία με τους Medical Volunteers International e.V. , τον Αύγουστο συναντήσαμε 40 άτομα. Στο 45% έγινε περιποίηση τραύματος, ενώ το 40% είχε αιτήματα για θεραπεία που απαιτούσε φαρμακευτική αγωγή. Από αυτά τα 40 άτομα, το 10% ήταν γυναίκες και το 90% άνδρες.

Wir sind tief besorgt über die anhaltenden schweren Menschenrechtsverletzungen in Gaza, Syrien, Iran, Afghanistan und anderen Regionen. Folter, willkürliche Inhaftierungen, Gewalt und Unterdrückung bedrohen die Leben und die Würde von Millionen Menschen.
Die Folgen hiervon sehen wir verstärkt in unseren Projekten.

Menschenrechte sind universell und müssen überall respektiert und geschützt werden. Wir fordern alle Staaten und Beteiligten nachdrücklich auf, ihrer Verantwortung gerecht zu werden und die Rechte der Menschen zu achten.

Wir stehen fest für eine Welt ein, in der Gewalt, Diskriminierung und Unrecht keinen Platz haben.

We are deeply concerned about the ongoing serious human rights violations in Gaza, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan and other regions. Torture, arbitrary detention, violence and oppression threaten the lives and dignity of millions of people. We are increasingly seeing the consequences of this in our projects.
Human rights are universal and must be respected and protected everywhere. We urge all states and stakeholders to live up to their responsibilities and respect human rights.

We are committed to a world in which violence, discrimination and injustice have no place.
