What is PIASTA? PIASTA (Intercultural Living and Learning) is a program run by the Department of International Affairs.

The PIASTA Welcome Week for the Winter Semester 2022/23 takes place from Tuesday 4.10.2022 - Friday 7.10.2022. Each semester, PIASTA tutors welcome all students to the University through the Welcome Week and, with about 100 events, help to create a platform for intercultural exchange and transcultural life at Universität Hamburg. PIASTA offers all Universität Hamburg students

rooms and opportunities to

- get to know students from all over the world
- actively participate in the internationalization of degree programs and the campus
- view the world from different perspectives
- further develop your general study skills and intercultural sensitization. We welcome all students regardless of nationality, (trans)cultural identity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, social background, religion, and ideology. Picnicking in Planten un Blomen in summer can feel like sitting inside a beautiful classical painting. 🥰🪷

Last week, we went there with PIASTA and enjoyed an idyllic evening filled with games and snacks.
The colorful light show was a fun highlight in the end — though I’m not sure they had that back then. 🤫😎

Last week, we made cute little charms out of air-drying clay and bracelets at one of our PIASTA DIY events 🥰

Look at our little ducks 🦆 teddy bears 🧸 and these beautiful bracelets for Mother’s Day! 💌

Someone even made a pretzel vase! 🥨🌷

PIASTA language tandem is a simple and fun way for two students of to teach each other their native languages.

In your regular tandem meetings, you don’t just learn a language, you also get to know a person, their country, culture, and everyday life.
