Peace Paper Project LLC was founded in 2011 and is an international organization of hand papermakers, art therapists, social activists and fine artists.

Peace Paper continues the practice of hand papermaking while using fibers that hold significance. In the tradition of the legendary papermaker Dard Hunter we disseminate the practice and joy of hand papermaking throughout the globe. We bring paper to the people so that they may transform their unique fibers into works of art; expressing their stories through the pulp while using the medium of papermaking to enrich their artistic voices.

Chicago to Boston, Yale, D.C., and then Fayetteville, Arkansas—that’s it for the 2026 Peace Paper North American Tour! 🚐💨

This journey was all about community, transformation, and using hand papermaking as a tool for healing and expression. We had the privilege of collaborating across studios, exhibitions, and university campuses—working alongside:
-Survivors of sexual violence
-9/11 remembrance groups & military veterans
-Displaced Marshallese families
-Academic leaders, mental health providers & students from art therapy, art education, and fine arts

Thank you to everyone who made this tour unforgettable.

Next stop: Tallinn, Estonia! 🇪🇪✨

It was so great to be back in the Pacific Northwest; collaborating with Portland VA Medical Center, Meredith McMackin, Stephen Schutzler and all the veterans who came out to make paper, prints and books from pulped military uniforms!

I have never met so many laughing & smiling Americans! Dont stop being your beautiful selves! I hope our paths cross again soon!
