The initiative for coffee&climate is an open and pre-competitive group of private and public partners.

We are unified by the wish to build a climate-smart coffee sector not by talking, but by acting. The initiative for coffee&climate is based on the power of pre-competitive partnership. As the challenges of climate change for coffee production are too big to be tackled alone, c&c is the ideal solution for the coffee sector to respond together in a practical way that cannot be found in other setups.

In c&c, members are coming together as partners to develop and implement approaches and tools that are needed to secure smallholder coffee farmer families livelihoods and establish coffee production systems of the future.

In this role, you will:
• Upload agronomic specialist content on climate-smart coffee practices to a web app.
• Create AI-based content translations and coordinate the translation process with our worldwide offices.
• Support backend management (content structure, metadata, media upload).
• Work closely with international colleagues to ensure high-quality, accessible knowledge.
• Contribute ideas to improve user experience and the visual presentation of c&c toolbox content.

📑𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱-𝘣𝘺-𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱 𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭: 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🪲

Bottle traps help reduce pest beetles in coffee production. They are highly effective against the 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿 and the 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿. The insects are attracted to the bottle by an attractant, get trapped by the water inside it, and drown.💦

A beetle trap can be easily prepared using an empty plastic water bottle, a smaller bottle with a lid, a string, water, soap, and ethanol.

✊coffee&climate at Coffee Camp 2025 - We are proud to be contributing to 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Coffee Camp is a four-day learning experience in Central America that brings together young coffee producers from different regions to strengthen their skills, explore new ideas, and connect with opportunities in the coffee sector.

This year, c&c joined the event in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, where 𝟭𝟮𝟲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝘂𝗲𝗵𝘂𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼, San Marcos, Alta Verapaz, and Quiché participated.

Our c&c toolbox specialist Marco Fajardo, together with Cristina Vásquez, agronomist in Huehuetenango, led one of the camp’s learning stations. They introduced the participants to the 𝗰&𝗰 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘅, showing how it supports climate adaptation strategies at both farm and landscape levels.

The youth explored the toolbox, accessed its digital tools, and discussed the benefits of applying climate-smart practices in their territories.

🌿🚜 From Mechanical Engineering to Modern Farming: Habib’s Path to 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲. ☕ In 𝗕𝘂𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗮, 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮, 24-year-old Habib Firmansyah runs a trial plot for analog forestry on his father’s coffee farm.

Habib had studied mechanical engineering in Java but wasn’t happy there. So he returned home to Sumatra to work in coffee. On his 0.5-hectare trial plot, he now applies the analog forestry method — an approach that mimics natural forests to make farming systems more resilient to climate change.

The field is structured into four layers:

It includes stinky bean as shade trees, banana and coffee trees in the second and third layers, and cover crops such as ginger and lemongrass.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁? A productive, climate-resilient system that improves biodiversity, protects soil, and brings extra income from diversified crops.

Through a Farmer Field School, Habib discovered the 𝗰&𝗰 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘅 and began applying climate-smart practices on his farm. He now uses the toolbox for his day-to-day information and especially enjoys the training videos.

His thriving trial plot shows how digital learning and ecological design can turn smallholder farms into resilient, modern coffee systems. 🌱

🌱☕ Showcasing the c&c toolbox at Kahawa Festival 2025!☕🌱At this year’s 𝗞𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗶, 𝗞𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻, we presented the 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲&𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘅, giving visitors a firsthand look at how this digital training platform helps coffee farmers and trainers tackle the challenges of climate change.

We were honored to welcome 𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝘂𝘀 𝗞𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗼, Director General of the Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) coffeeboardtz, to our booth. His visit sparked meaningful discussions on how technology and climate-smart tools can empower coffee farmers to thrive amid the growing challenges of climate change. He explored how the c&c toolbox empowers the coffee sector through:
