SCD Weekend Hamburg 2026 – Review 💃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

From September 18 to 20, a weekend full of dancing brought us together at the Bürgerhaus Bornheide: a welcome dance on Friday, courses on Saturday and Sunday, and the highlight, the ball with buffet on Saturday evening.

A big thank you to Eric Finley and Pat Houghton for their inspiring teaching, to Judith and Ian Muir for the wonderful music, and to all our guests and helpers who made this weekend possible! 🎶

We were delighted to receive this message from our friends in London:

"I enjoyed everything (particularly that wonderful collection of healthy food!). Most of all, you are all so welcoming to us visitors and have made a good bunch of new friends. It's a joy of the SCD community."

Thank you, and see you on the dance floor! 💙

What a wonderful, sunny day at British Flair in Hamburg! ☀️ Our Demonstration Team had a fantastic time sharing Scottish Country Dancing with such an enthusiastic audience. After our second performance, we invited everyone to join us for a ceilidh on the grass in front of the stage — and they did! Thank you to everyone who danced, smiled, and made the day so memorable.

Performance at the Dietrichsdorfer Band during "Kieler Woche"

This year, we once again had the pleasure of performing at the popular “Dietrichsdorfer Band” community festival as part of the Kieler Woche. In a wonderful festival atmosphere, we were delighted to share the joy and variety of Scottish Country Dancing with the audience.

A special highlight of our performance was a choreographed medley featuring the dances Robin Hood's Quarterstaff, The Far Islands, and The Triumph. The choreography combined these three dances into a lively and entertaining presentation that was enjoyed by both the dancers and the audience alike.

Many thanks to the organizers for their invitation and to everyone who came to watch and support us with their warm applause.
