Guinness World Record Holder for the Most Efficient Electric Vehicle

Winner of the Shell Eco-marathon 2015 & EducEco 2015! The Shell Eco-marathon & the Educ Eco are competitions for high efficient vehicles. The vehicles have to drive a fixed distance in a limited time. The vehicles are designed and manufactured by university students or similar. The goal is to consume as little energy as possible.

One year ago today, the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge came to an end. ☀️🇦🇺

Our first time competing taught us more than we could have imagined and marked the end of an unforgettable chapter.

One year later, we’re still carrying those lessons with us and implementing them into lux027! 🏎️

A big thank you to R&G for supporting the production of lux027! 💙

R&G provided us with a wide range of composite manufacturing equipment and consumables, from gloves, mixing cups and cutting equipment to core material and resin infusion supplies, at a really important stage when we were just getting production started.

Their consumables allowed us to start bonding our first components, while the infusion equipment is helping us move into the production of the large composite parts of the car.
In these early stages, having the right materials and equipment available makes a significant difference. R&G’s support helped us turn months of preparation and CAD work into actual parts in the workshop, and get lux027 production moving. 🏎️☀️

This past Sunday, we had the opportunity to showcase our Guinness World Record-winning car, muc022, at Zamanand Festival in the heart of Munich.
It was inspiring to meet so many curious people, share our passion for engineering, and talk about the technologies shaping the future of mobility.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the solar team from Sonnenwagen Aachen to Munich!! ☀️

While spending some time in the city, they stopped by our workshop, giving us the opportunity to catch up, exchange ideas, and share insights from our projects.
We really enjoyed showing them around our workspace, introducing them to our car, and discussing everything from engineering challenges to team experiences. ☺️

Designing PCBs around GaN HEMTs is unforgiving work. The devices switch fast, parasitics matter, and the layout rules creep tighter with every revision. That’s where LeitOn came in.

For lux025, LeitOn manufactured our MPPT and inverter boards, both running GaN HEMTs and both pushing aggressive 8-layer stackups with small vias and tight via-to-via spacings to keep parasitics in check. Not the easiest brief to hand a fab, but LeitOn pulled the boards through on turnarounds under a week.

Without LeitOn, our power electronics would still be gerbers on a hard drive. Thanks for making this project a reality 🤝
