This is the official page of the IFSA local committee Göttingen.

The International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) is the global network for students in forest sciences. It unites approximately 3000 students in about 130 member associations (called Local Committees) in over 61 countries. IFSA is a non-governmental, non for profit and non religious organisation entirely run by students for students.

Hello from the holidays! While things are a bit quieter, we’re taking time to look back at the past year with our IFSA Local Committee! 🌲✨

What an amazing time we had! From Sunday hikes in the fresh air to unforgettable events all over the world – some of us joined the French Forestry School bicentenary 🇫🇷, NERM in Ireland 🇮🇪, the Walditreff in Switzerland 🇨🇭, and even the IFSS in Indonesia 🌏, where IFSA members from everywhere come together. Our LC also hosted the last years Germany Summer Meeting in the Harz 🏞️ – what a blast! 🎉

Between all these events we enjoyed some chill bowling nights, fun pub evenings (wish we took some pics 🍻), the Forestry Faculty Summer Fest, and our cozy Christmas Party 🎄

A year full of fun, connections, and a little bit of learning along the way – can’t wait for the next one! 💚

🌲 Waldi Weekend in Sedrun! 🌄

We had such an amazing time at this years Walditreff in Sedrun, Switzerland! On Saturday, we even had an excursion to the Schutzwald (protective forest), learning about how forests in Switzerland safeguard mountain landscapes and communities. We also had a great BBQ at a small lake, went swimming, and ended the days with some beers, wine, games, and dancing in the bunker 🕺💃

We can’t wait for next year 💚 🌱

Our first LC Meeting of the year 2025 🎊

Yesterday, we had our first Sunday hike of the term!!! 🥳
We reviseted an old favourite, the Burg Plesse. 🏰
We had a blast in the beautiful fall forest and saw some cute mushrooms on the way.🍄
