In the last few days, the number of Covid-19 infection cases in Germany has increased significantly. 😷
Since the Covid 19 virus is currently classified as more dangerous than the flu pathogen, we should be extra careful. Here are some helpful tips! 💡 🤓
𝟭. 𝗛𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀
- avoid shaking hands 🤝🙅
- wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds 🧼⏲️
- cough and sneeze in the crook of your arm or use disposable handkerchiefs once, keep a distance
- keep a distance to people who show flu-like symptoms 🤒
- keep your hands away from your face
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱-𝟭𝟵?
The first signs are flu-like symptoms such as dry cough, fever, fatigue, sometimes also a cold and diarrhoea. In severe cases breathing problems or pneumonia may occur.
𝟮. 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀
Business trips to officially listed risk areas cannot be approved. At present, these are China (Hubei Province, Wuhan), Iran (Ghom Province, Tehran), Italy (Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy regions as well as the city of Vo) and South Korea (Gyeongsangbuk-do Province).
In general, please check critically which business trips are absolutely necessary and whether they can be replaced by a video conference. 🛫🧳
𝟯. 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀
If you return from one of the officially listed risk areas, please stay at home for the time being and contact our company physician Dr. Birgit Fischer (e-mail: [email protected]; phone 1346) and your supervisor. Please inform them of your whereabouts, contact persons, and state of health. In this case, use the home office option.
𝟰. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗹𝗹
If you or your relatives feel ill, please stay at home, inform your supervisor, and consult a doctor if you have reasonable suspicion. Please also inform us if there are any suspected cases in your private neighborhood.
𝟱. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀
Larger events at the institute, where a significant number of external visitors is expected, will be canceled until Easter. Internal lecture series will be held as announced. 👩🏫
𝟲. 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘅 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗣𝗜-𝗕𝗣𝗖
In the meantime, the Max Planck Society has established a decentralized crisis team. Yesterday, our institute also set up a crisis team to work out further. 💁
