• Research N**i forced labor and your own family history
• Visit authentic historical sites in Germany & Poland
• Learn from experts how to conduct historical research
• Create your own art project based on real biographies
• Meet & connect with like-minded young people from different countries

YOUNION 2025 cancelled

Meetingpoint Memory Messiaen e.V. regrets to announce that the intercultural youth project YOUNION 2025 will not take place due to funding challenges.

Since nearly two decades, YOUNION (formerly Worcation) has brought together young people from across Europe to explore memory culture, human rights, and democracy at the site of the former POW camp Stalag VIII A.

While the cancellation is disappointing, it opens space for rethinking. Preparations for YOUNION 2026 have already started!

In 2025, the association will focus on adult education and new formats of remembrance work – but youth engagement remains a key pillar.

Pre-registration for the youth encounter Younion has begun. The encounter for young people aged 16-26 from Europe will take place in Görlitz and Zgorzelec between 19 July and 2 August 2025 and, as always, will focus on remembrance, (historical-political) education and culture at the Stalag VIII A memorial.
