Restoring Pelister’s Ancient Molika Forest after Severe Storm Damage!

The winter of 2025 left a profound mark on one of ’s most valuable natural treasures – the ancient Molika pine forests of Pelister NP. Heavy snowfall and strong winds caused extensive damage across approximately 100 hectares of forest, bringing down an estimated 1,000 to 1,100 trees and significantly altering the appearance of some of ’s oldest forest stands.

In 2023, EcoAlbania embarked on a multi-year initiative to address a complex environmental challenge: the preservation of the Polis-Valamarë-Rungajë-Moravë-Gramoz ecological corridor. dhe shëndeti i ekosistemeve, veçanërisht në zonat e mbrojtura, ndikojnë në mënyrë të drejtpërdrejtë në cilësinë e jetës së komuniteteve, përfshirë edhe të , të cilët janë ndër më të ndjeshmit ndaj ndryshimeve në mjedis.

World Vision Albania, në bashkëpunim me Prespa Ohrid Nature Trust - PONT , prej më shumë se 3 vitesh po zbaton projektin “Ndërtimi i përgjigjes komunitare për mbrojtjen e biodiversitetit në Parkun Natyror Korab-Koritnik dhe Parkun Kombëtar të Shebenikut”.

Gjatë kësaj kohe janë ndërtuar eksperienca shumë pozitive dhe modele bashkëpunimi me komunitetet lokale, duke forcuar ndërgjegjësimin për ruajtjen e natyrës dhe përfshirjen aktive të banorëve në mbrojtjen e saj.

Së fundmi, në Dorez, Librazhd, ka nisur puna për përmirësimin e infrastrukturës dhe vënien në funksion të Qendrës së Informacionit për Parkun Kombëtar të Shebenikut, një nismë që po zbatohet nga World Vision Albania dhe AKZM/AdZM Elbasan, në bashkëpunim edhe me AlbNatyra. Në përputhje me statusin e zonave të mbrojtura, ndërhyrjet fokusohen vetëm në përmirësimin e infrastrukturës ekzistuese dhe në zgjidhje të qëndrueshme që respektojnë natyrën.

Kjo qendër informacioni do të ndihmojë AdZM Elbasan në promovimin e potencialeve të parkut, si dhe në monitorimin dhe mbrojtjen e biodiversitetit. Ajo do të shërbejë gjithashtu si një pikë e rëndësishme edukimi për komunitetin, përfshirë fëmijët dhe të rinjtë, duke i afruar ata me natyrën dhe duke i angazhuar në aktivitete ndërgjegjësuese për ruajtjen e saj.

Në të njëjtën kohë, komunitetet e zonës do të angazhohen jo vetëm në aktivitete që gjenerojnë të ardhura përmes sh*tjes së produkteve lokale, por edhe në mbrojtjen e vlerave të biodiversitetit dhe natyrës në përgjithësi.

Kjo nismë është rezultat i bashkëpunimit të qëndrueshëm që World Vision Albania dhe PONT ka ndërtuar me AKZM, duke zbatuar projekte konkrete që promovojnë dhe mbrojnë zonat e mbrojtura, duke siguruar njëkohësisht zhvillim të qëndrueshëm për komunitetet lokale.
