Indische Tanz Akademie is celebrating its 20th anniversary and would like to invite you all to join them in the celebrations.
Margam is the structured presentation or path of a Bharatanatyam recital, designed as a spiritual and artistic journey from invocation to culmination. In Bharatanatyam. Margam literally means “path” or “way” and represents a well-planned sequence of dance items that guides the performer and audience through a spiritual and artistic journey. It symbolizes the evolution of the self, moving from the basic awareness.
In simple words, this art can be understood as a path to reach Paramatman. Our tradition speaks of five fine arts, each guiding us toward Moksham, and dance is one of these sacred paths. Through dance, we express a range of emotions and create a dialogue with the Paramatman, seeking a deeper spiritual connection.
To reach this elevated state, harmony with music is essential. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Indische Tanzakademie, we are honoured to present a special recital featuring musicians from both India and Germany.
Leading us is our beloved Guru from Chennai, Shri Shanmuga Sundar, who will perform Nattuvangam. With her mesmerizing voice, Mrs. Preethi Mahesh guides us gently along this spiritual journey.
Accompanying them are the renowned local artist Shri Piravanathan Prasanth on Mridangam and Shri Athisayan Suresh on Violin.

Über den Gründer von Indische Tanz Akademie / About the Founder of Indische Tanz Akademie
Ms. Bharathi Avireddy is a professional solo dancer and teacher in Indian classical dance styles “Bharatha Natyam” and “Kuchipudi”. Born in a musician’s family, she carved her own niche by forging ahead in the field classical dances, apart from dabbling in the family’s chosen path. She started “Indische Tanzakademie” in the year 1997 in Wiesbaden and now teaching in Frankfurt also.
