My heart is full as an Irish American woman living in Boston.

Over the past few weeks, I had the privilege of attending several meaningful events honoring Irish history, resilience, remembrance, and connection across generations.

From the International Great Famine Commemoration in Cohasset, to meeting Patrick O’Donovan TD and those helping bring Ireland’s 1926 Census records to life, to attending the opening of The Story of Us exhibition at Boston College — each experience was a powerful reminder of how deeply our stories continue to connect us across time and oceans.

As the Boston & New England Rose, I never take opportunities like these for granted. Representing this community and celebrating our shared heritage here in New England is something I will carry with me forever.

Feeling especially grateful this week for community, reflection, heritage, and the chance to celebrate Irish history so far from home. ☘️

Join us in supporting our 2025 Boston & New England Rose, Maeve 🌹 On Thursday, May 14th, Boston Ale House will generously donate 10% of all food sales to Maeve’s fundraising campaign for Cliona’s Foundation.

Maeve, along with fellow 2025 Roses and Escorts, hopes to walk the Camino to raise funds for this incredible charity, which provides vital support to families of seriously ill children—helping ease the burden of non-medical expenses.

From Boston to Dublin 🌍❤️ who knew that distance wouldn’t matter when a friendship like this was waiting.

This weekend was amazing. We soaked up every moment and it meant so much to be there celebrating you and everything you’ve done. Such a powerhouse, Edel 🤍

I also got to watch 38 incredible women take the stage over two nights and I was genuinely blown away. The talent, the confidence, the stories, so special to witness.

This weekend you handed over your sash, but you’ll always be my Dublin Rose 🌹 It’s been so special watching you this past year and seeing everything you’ve brought to it. I’m so proud of you.

Somewhere between the chats, the laughs, and the miles across the ocean, we built something that just feels easy and real. Boston and Dublin might be far apart, but you’ve never felt it.

You’re truly one of a kind.

Maeve was recently able to attend the Kerry Rose selection and had the most amazing time.🌹 Such an inspiring night — congratulations to the new Kerry Rose, Caoimhe Lynch and all the girls who gave it their all.

The Rose of Tralee community has lost a truly remarkable woman. Unateresa Sheahan Gormley’s legacy of leadership, kindness, and dedication to Irish culture will live on in every life she touched. Holding our New York Rose family in our hearts.
