We aim at empowering people and communities through the establishment of self-sustainable libraries as educational hubs.

Our mission is to improve access to information and foster a knowledge-sharing culture for all in order improve their livelihoods. The Bookfeeding Project supports local communities in the building of safe educational spaces, and provides them with books and tools. We create libraries in cooperation with local NGO's and organizations as a part of already existing project but we also build safe edu

cational spaces as independent projects. All projects and libraries are initiated by communities themselves, by applying for a Bookfeeding centre through our website. We aim at creating self-sustainable and skills-sharing friendly centers in which you too can get involved and help. If you have any unwanted, unused or old books you can send them directly to our libraries, drop them to one of our collection points or visit any of the projects and bring them with you! On this International Day of Friendship, we celebrate the connections that go beyond borders, languages, and continents. 🌍📚❤️

At Bookfeeding, friendship is built in many different ways.

It lives in the generosity of donors who may never meet the children they support, yet choose to invest in their future.

It grows through volunteers, local communities, teachers, and partners working together to create spaces where children can read, learn, and dream.

And it shines in every book that travels across the world to open new possibilities for a child.

Through books, we are building bridges between cultures and continents - reminding us that even from thousands of miles away, we can be part of each other's stories.

Today, we want to say thank you to everyone who makes these connections possible.

Because of you, children can read.
Because of you, children can dream.
Because of you, friendships can grow across the world.

And every story begins differently. 🌍📚

For some people, books are a natural part of everyday life. For others, a library may be the place where they first discover new stories, new knowledge, and a world beyond what they already know.

In 2025, Bookfeeding supported 27 libraries, providing access to more than 14,000 books. But behind these numbers are more than shelves and statistics.

There are children discovering the joy of reading, teenagers finding space to learn and grow, and adults gaining access to knowledge, new skills and opportunities.

Today, on World Population Day, we are reminded of something simple:

Every story is unique. And access to books can help shape what comes next. 💚

2025 was a year of growth, collaboration, and meaningful impact.

Together with our volunteers, partners, donors, and local communities, we supported libraries, launched new projects, strengthened partnerships, and helped create more opportunities for learning.

The first Bookfeeding library in Africa and now, more than 10 years later is still up and running!
Louis visited our Madagascar library and spent a few weeks reading and teaching French and English with the kids.

This year we have so far started new 2 library projects: in Tanzania and in Malawi.

The one on the photos is going to be the third Bookfeeding library in Malawi. And you can see that everyone is excited 😊
Even the youngest of the Mbendera community are helping to dig the foundation!

*Greetings from Positive Change Youth Organization.* Thon Allan community we support in Malawi!

And here is their message we want to share with you!

Today, we successfully conducted our monthly clean-up exercise at our community library. In addition, we held our very first meeting, during which we discussed several important agenda items aimed at positively impacting both our library and the wider community.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the *Book Feeding Project* and the *African Library Project* through *Wangero Book Foundation* for their generous book donations and for the support continued support.

We are hopeful and excited that 2026 will be an amazing year for Positive Change Youth Organization as we continue to serve and empower our community.
