A piece of Lufthansa history found a new home - and raised real impact along the way. ✈️

D-AIMB, known as "Mike Bravo," flew for more than 46,700 hours and covered roughly 35 to 40 million kilometers before its Business Class seats were retired as part of Lufthansa's fleet modernization.

39 of those seats - including 5 with the exclusive First Row Monument - found new owners through a charity auction on eBay. The result: approximately €60,000 raised.

The proceeds will be shared equally between help alliance and Human Care, directly supporting help alliance projects worldwide as well as educational and scholarship programs for young people in Kenya.

As a thank-you, the three highest bidders received a private tour of Lufthansa's facilities in Frankfurt.

This was made possible by colleagues across the Lufthansa Group who turned retired aircraft parts into lasting impact. Thank you to everyone involved.

Sometimes, support means creating space for an entire family to breathe.

Zoey was born with a rare condition and needs support in many areas of everyday life. What she loves most are the simple things: making music, playing, going on outings and spending time with people who care for her.

Her story shows why our project Bridges to Independence in Hamburg matters. By creating long-term support opportunities for young people with severe disabilities and providing much-needed relief for their families, the project helps build confidence and perspectives for the future.

While Zoey enjoys new experiences and dedicated care, her family can take a step back, recharge and spend valuable time together. 💛

✈️✨ Discovering the world of aviation.

Through the help alliance Community Liberia, children from the Clar Hope Foundation Orphanage and Rosetta Steps School were invited to a unique behind-the-scenes airport experience hosted together with colleagues from Airlines.

For many of them, it was their first time visiting an airport and stepping on board an aircraft. During the visit, they explored airport operations, experienced a check-in process, visited the cockpit and learned more about life and work in aviation.

A special thank you to the dedicated Brussels Airlines colleagues who made this memorable day possible. 💛

The 100-year Lufthansa caps found a new home this week: at the help alliance Sunshine Project, where children proudly received them during a project visit.

A small reminder that special moments can travel far - and sometimes create joy where you least expect it.

300 Lufthansa sleep kits. One spontaneous community effort. 💛

This week, our Frankfurt Community collected, delivered and distributed 300 sleep kits at WESER5 in Frankfurt, a day center supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Organized at short notice, and made possible by many helping hands.

The report shows how education, vocational training and access to employment create opportunities for children and young people around the world - and provides transparent insights into how entrusted donations were used and what impact they helped achieve.

World Cup meets help alliance 🌍⚽

Tomorrow, Colombia and Ghana will face off at the World Cup. We're keeping our fingers crossed for both teams! 💛
Beyond the World Cup, both countries are also home to help alliance projects creating opportunities for young people.
In Ghana, the project The Butterfly Effect empowers students through environmental education, biodiversity initiatives and school gardens. 🌱🦋
In Colombia, Building Dreams helps create better living and learning conditions, opening doors to future opportunities for young people. ✨
Different countries, different approaches - one shared goal: creating opportunities for the next generation. 💛

Some journeys continue long after landing. ✈️
Lufthansa is giving selected Airbus A380 Business Class seats a second life by auctioning them via eBay Charity. The seats come from the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the A380 “Munich”, which travelled the world for many years and logged more than 46,700 flight hours.
All proceeds will support the work of help alliance and Cargo Human Care | Wir verändern Leben | Kenia 🇰🇪 helping create education and career opportunities for young people around the world. 🌍
