Bridging Generations Through Kindness

This past Saturday in Frankfurt, something beautiful happened.

Twelve little hands picked up colours, glue, and paper — and made magic.

At our very first “Bridging Generations through Kindness” event at Saalbau Gallus Sporthalle, children gathered to create handmade cards filled with love, doodles, and the kind of honesty only kids can offer. Each card carries a small piece of their heart, waiting to be placed in the hands of someone who has lived many more stories than they have.

Because kindness doesn’t need a common language. A smile, a drawing, a “thinking of you” — that’s enough to bridge any distance, even the one between generations.

While the children created, we shared a little about Sewa International Europe – Germany Chapter with the parents — our work, our purpose, and the simple belief that seva (selfless service) begins in our own neighbourhoods.

On June 6th, our Sewa volunteers will visit a local old age home to personally deliver these cards — connecting the youngest hearts in our community with the elders who have built it.

Lives Saved Begin With Skills Learned!

On 9th May 2026, Sewa Europe hosted a full-day First Aid Training at Namaste India, Böblingen.

21 participants learned CPR, wound care, choking relief, and burn treatment — guided by certified trainers through hands-on practice and real-life scenarios.

Because when emergencies strike, the right response in the first few minutes can save a life.

A small act of kindness can stay with a child forever.

This Mother’s Day, let your child experience the joy of giving.

“Bridging Generations through Kindness” is a heartfelt SEWA initiative where children (ages 3–18) will come together to create handmade greeting cards for elderly residents living in old age homes.

Children are encouraged to bring their own crayons, colors, and paints— they can create their own little masterpieces, filled with love and imagination.

These cards will later be personally delivered by SEWA volunteers, along with time spent with the elderly through conversations, songs, and shared moments—spreading smiles and building meaningful connections.

In a world where many elderly feel lonely, this small gesture can bring warmth, happiness, and a sense of belonging.

Some of the most beautiful lessons children learn don’t come from books… they come from moments of kindness.

Imagine your child sitting with a box of colorful pens, carefully making a greeting card—not for a friend or school—but for a grandparent they’ve never met.
Now imagine the smile on an elderly person’s face when they receive it… maybe after days, even weeks, of loneliness.

This May 10, we invite your little ones (ages 5–13) to be part of something truly meaningful—“Bridging Generations through Kindness.”

A heartfelt gathering where children will create and personally deliver greeting cards to elderly residents living alone. It’s a small gesture, but one that builds empathy, values (sanskar), and a deep sense of human connection.

As parents, especially as mothers, we are always looking for ways to nurture compassion and respect in our children. This is one such opportunity—simple, genuine, and impactful.
