This is Aron and Dinah talking in the school yard of Mpererwe Primary School. Dinah is a candidate, which means she is right in the middle of her final exams (PLE=Primary Leaving Exams). In January she will be a Secondary School Girl - right on track towards her goal of being a teacher. Let’s give Dinah some love and wish her and our other candidates good luck for their exams! 🎓🎓🎓
Heute spricht Aron mit Dinah auf dem Schulhof der Mpererwe Primary School. Dinah geht in die 7. Jahrgangsstufe und gehört damit zu den sogenannten "candidates". Sie steckt gerade mitten in ihren Primary School- Abschlussprüfungen (PLE-Primary Leaving Exams). Ab Januar wird sie - dank ihres Stipendiums - auf die Secondary School gehen und ist damit einen entscheidenden Schritt weiter gekommen in Richtung ihres Traums Lehrerin zu werden. Today Aron is talking to Wilson about the folk song, their house is presenting in the competition. Our kids are experts on their instruments, so that’s why they play an important part in these house competitions. Watch Wilson give us a sample of how the … traditional Ugandan flute sounds. ❤️
Aron spricht mit Wilson über das traditionelle Lied, das sein Haus beim Wettbewerb präsentiert. Die Kids von Architects of Music sind bereits sehr fortgeschritten auf Instrumenten, die in der Schule nicht unterrichtet werden. So werden sie zu wichtigen Führungspersönlichkeiten während der Schulwettbewerbe. Wilson präsentiert uns ein kleines Klangbeispiel auf der traditionellen ugandischen Flöte. Viel Spaß! ❤️

So, Aron is making his way around the schoolyard and found Eva. The school houses are divided into House Solomon, David, Moses and Noah. These four houses are competing against each other in a show for parents, neighbors and the whole community. Eva is very sure that her house - House Moses - will be the winner this year. Please enjoy! ❤️

As promised, our members have some intel about their daily lives at school for you. We are in 3rd term now, so it is time for school competitions again. The houses of Divine High School are competing against each other (who here read Harry Potter?) and trying to find out who outperforms the others. Disciplines are dance, song and theater. Aron is moving around the schoolyard and talks to our members about their tasks. First off we have Emmanuel - you probably know him from our series "EMMA VIBES". Let's hear what he is up to.
Heute starten wir mit ein paar Eindrücken aus dem Schulalltag unserer High School- Kids. Wir sind mitten im 3. Trimester, das heißt, es ist wieder Zeit für den traditionellen Schulwettbewerb. Die Klassen sind in verschiedene Häuser eingeteilt - alle, die Harry Potter gelesen haben, wissen wovon wir sprechen. Diese Häuser treten in verschiedenen Disziplinen gegeneinander an. Es wird getanzt, gesungen und Theater gespielt. Aron möchte von unseren Mitgliedern wissen, was ihre Aufgaben sind und wie sie ihre Chancen einschätzen. Als erstes treffen wir Emmanuel von "EMMA VIBES". Viel Spaß!

Three musicians from Uganda and Germany have a dream - transforming young people’s lives through the tremendous power of music.
Established in 2018, Architects of Music is a social motivated music program empowering youth from Uganda and Germany. In Kampala, AoM has a yearlong program combining regular weekly activities, intensive holiday camps and regular performances inside and outside the community. The group trains in Mpererwe (Namere) Kampala, Uganda, three days a week in the afternoon for 3 - 4 hours. The training contains instrumental classes for flute, adungu (Ugandan bow harp), guitar, xylophone, percussion, music theory and traditional African dancing. During the week, the participants are free to set their own times for individual practice or individual consultation with a teacher.
In February 2019, the German founders Regina Rothe and Victoria Romann led an intensive training camp alongside the Ugandan program director Joseph Ocen. The camp culminated with the creation of an African/European production of "The Magic Flute" inspired by Mozart's original Opera.
We aim for international exchange and high quality music education for youth on both continents (Africa and Europe).
