Der IHD ist eine von muslimischen Studierende und Akademiker gegründete Hochschulgruppe. Ziel ist die Förderung des Wissens und der sozialen Gemeinschaft.

The aim and purpose of the student association 'IHD' is to encourage the student life, to create a stronger international student network and to enrich the understanding of the world and the Islam. Its major interest aims at approaching students who are currently choosing their field and discipline of study. The IHD favors to get into direct contact with students while promoting inter-r

eligious and intercultural dialogs, reducing social tensions and battling against prejudice and misunderstandings. The IHD also promotes the social integration of Muslims – especially of students - into the democratic society of the Federal Republic of Germany. Common projects, meetings and events shall encourage the integration and gathering of people with same interests and dialogues. This will also positively affect and majorly strengthen the international and open-minded philosophy of the Technical University of Dresden. The IHD explicitly distances itself from every kind of radicalisation. DE 🇩🇪

Ziel des IHD ist die Förderung der Studentenhilfe, der internationalen Studierenden Netzwerke, der Völkerverständigung und der islamischen Religion. Unterstützung der Studieninteressierten bei der Auswahl und Gestaltung ihres Studiums. Insbesondere will der IHD Studieninteressierten den Einstieg in das Studium erleichtern. Dazu wollen wir Studieninteressierten den direkten Kontakt zu Studierenden vermitteln, um erfahrungsbezogene Informationen zu einem Studium austauschen zu können. Förderung des interreligiösen und interkulturellen Dialogs an den Universitäten, sowie der Abbau von Spannungen, Vorurteilen und Missverständnissen zwischen den Religionsgemeinschaften und Kulturen. Durch interreligiöse und interkulturelle Dialogveranstaltungen und Seminare sollen Vorurteile und Missverständnisse abgebaut werden. Förderung der sozialen Integration der internationalen islamischen Bevölkerung - insbesondere die Integration der muslimischen Studierenden - in die Gesellschaft der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Durch gemeinsame Projekte und Veranstaltungen mit den Universitäten in Dresden soll die Integration, das gegenseitige Kennenlernen und Interesse, gemeinsame Gespräche und die gegenseitige Wertschätzung gefördert werden. Der IHD bezweckt den Radikalisierungen entgegen zu treten und zu vermeiden.

We are back with the second installment of our Ramadan community series, featuring another moving piece by Yasminsfeder 📖✨:

„Looking into the future full of hope, knowing that with Allah (SWT) nothing is ever lost. In Him, I feel secure.
To simply start running—without looking back, to the right, or to the left—and to trust in Allah (SWT).“

In a world that often pulls our attention in every direction, this poem reminds us of the power of „simply running“—moving forward with unwavering focus and trust in Allah (SWT). When we realize that nothing is truly lost when it is with Him, we find a sense of security (Geborgenheit) that the world cannot give.
Reflection for today: What is one worry you are ready to let go of to „simply start running“ toward Him? 🤲🌙

Remember when we put out a call for writers and asked you to share your reflections, posts, or poetry for Ramadan? We were overjoyed by your beautiful submissions!

We are starting this series with a moving piece by the talented Yasminsfeder. It is a profound reminder of Allah (swt) as Al-Wadud - The Most Loving.

The Loving One,
who touches hearts most deeply
and heals the soul when it rests in His (swt) proximity.
Today, tomorrow, and for all eternity

Islamischer Hochschulbund Dresden (IHD) warmly invites you to our Ramadan Iftar evening at TUSCULUM Dresden.

Ramadan is a blessed month of fasting, reflection, and community. We would like to come together to break our fast, pray, and share a meaningful evening as students and members of the Muslim community in Dresden.

The program will include:

* An interactive quiz
* Time for networking and community exchange
* Congregational prayer
* Iftar meal (please indicate your dietary preference in the registration form – vegan/non-vegan and other requirements)

Snowy trails, misty forests, and laughs with the community. 🌲❄️

MashaAllah, that was our IHD hike to Großer Winterberg over the weekend! From the hidden beauty of Kipphornaussicht to the deep forest near Schmilka, we trekked through thick and thin snow, threw snowballs, and soaked in the winter magic together. Remembering our Lord in the snow was a quiet reminder to stay grateful wherever we are! 🤍

Learning about the rich flora and fauna at the forest info-house, enjoying forest views at Elbtal, we ended the day warm and happy — with fries and fruits near Hirschmühle. ☕🍰

If you’re looking for a winter adventure just outside Dresden: Winterberg and its trails (via Oberelbe & Winterberg guides) are a dreamy escape — less crowded than Schrammsteine, but full of wonder.

Autumn trails, colors, and conversations 🌿🍎🍒

A refreshing day out at Forstbotanischer Garten Tharandt, wandering through global plant zones from Asian pines to North American forests and native apple trees 🍂.

We explored the nursery’s warm tropical house, crossed the Zeisiggrundbrücke (TU Dresden architecture students played a role👷‍♂️), and passed by the old Bergkriche (church) and Bergruine (castle ruins) before entering the garden.

Great company, snacks, and lots of laughter — a perfect fall escape! 🌍✨
