This remarkable structure in Santo Domingo by one of our members showcases how membrane architecture can transform outdoor spaces by combining protection, functionality, and visual lightness. As tensile systems continue to expand globally, projects like this demonstrate how lightweight structures provide effective climate protection while maintaining sustainable and adaptable design solutions.

A clear example of how membrane architecture continues to support the evolution of outdoor environments where comfort, performance, and design must coexist.

This beautiful work done by is a representation of a very fast growing industry in Europe. Sport centers, children parks and any place where physical activity is practiced outside requires systems to provide protection from the weather while keeping an environmentally friendly and sustainable core.

We are pleased to announce the winner of the
AMA AWArd for best project and product.
Reasoning of the jury: This project stands out for its practical design and use of PVC membranes to provide weather protection for an exhibition area, structure is both functional and visually appealing, covering a large area with translucent membranes that allow natural light to pass through. The materials, methods, and design/technical features that make it function or stand out. The pavilion’s simple architectural concept-a unified floating membrane over modular boxes-imposed complex boundary conditions for the 1,000 m’ tensile roof.
