last night: RCDI met yesterday at the (DHC) for a great online presentation from Bonnie Black https://www.linkedin.com/in/bonnie-black-6502a38/ , past Rotary District Governor District 7040 to discuss on the topic of the Rotary action group on mental health initiatives https://www.ragonmentalhealth.org/ , which mission is to create and support opportunities for all to improve their mental health and wellness for healthy, happy and productive lives.
Rotary members are proving effective not only overcoming stigma around mental health but also introducing resources to raise awareness and to increase access. This latter occurs by increasing capacity for prevention and earlier treatment.
On this page https://www.ragonmentalhealth.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=862297&module_id=523159 are resources in the form of toolkits that every Rotary member can introduce locally:
Break stigma (Looking Inward, Don't Bottle it Up, PIP)
Raise awareness (PIP, Resilience, Launch a District Chapter, Wellness in a Box)
Increase access and capacity for prevention and early treatment (A Lever)

March 8th is International Women's Day. 2024 marks 35 years since Rotary International changed their governing documents, in 1989, to permit the addition of women into Rotary clubs as active members. The response to the decision was overwhelming: By June 1990, the number of female Rotarians had skyrocketed to over 20,000. The number of women members worldwide reached 195,000 in July 2010 (about 16% of Rotarians) and surpassed 277,000 in July 2020 (about 23% ).

What is the theme of this year's International Women's Day?
Like every year, International Women's Day 2024 will be celebrated with a unique theme. While the United Nations has designated this year's theme as, Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress' with a focus on addressing economic disempowerment, the Rotary campaign theme for this year is Inspire Inclusion.
