🕊️ Peace can be learned | Cambodia 🌍
In Cambodia, 27 future trainers travelled to Phnom Penh to explore the legacy of the Khmer Rouge regime, under which around two million people died between 1975 and 1979.
They visited historical sites, memorials, the Khmer Rouge tribunal and an audiovisual archive – connecting what they knew from books with the stories and places behind the history.
But the journey didn’t end there. As future trainers, participants plan to bring these experiences into their own peace education work – using history to encourage empathy, remembrance and a commitment to preventing violence.
Because remembering the past can also help shape a more peaceful future. 🌱
Peace can be learned. 💛
