We are pleased to announce that YPY Germany will host another superyacht networking event from Friday 9th - Sunday 11th of June 2023 📌on the beautiful Island Pellworm in Germany.

Besides a tremendous portion of fun by social activities during the YPY Superyacht Summit, we host a series of panel discussions during the event at different sceneries to discuss among our members and experts' future relevant topics. The event ensures a perfect combination of networking, strengthening your contacts, enriching the individual industry knowledge and creating joint understanding of each other's actions.

Destination
Pellworm a small and beautiful Island in the German North Sea, just 1:40h drive from Hamburg. The vicinity to the super yachting destinations in Germany and Netherlands allows YPY members to easily get the Island. For members of international chapters, the airport Hamburg is the best nearest international airport.

My name is Elie, I work as a project engineer in product development at .
My main role is cost estimation which involves assessing the various factors that contribute to the overall cost of the Superyacht. This includes analyzing the design specifications, the materials used and the engineering requirements.
 
How long have you been working in the industry and where did you work before?

I've been working at Nobiskrug since April 2022, before that I was a trainee at SVA Potsdam.
 
What fascinates you about our industry and what drives you?

What fascinates me the most in the industry is the opportunity to take part in creating unique and innovative vessels that push the boundaries of engineering and design.
What drives me is the satisfaction of delivering a high-quality product that meets the need of the client while staying within budget. It's a challenging and a rewarding process to work closely with the design team, technical departments, suppliers, and other stakeholders to create a comprehensive cost estimate that accurately reflects the requirements of the project.
 
How did you hear about YPY and what do you expect from this network?

I heard about YPY from LinkedIn, but thanks to the persistence of my colleague, I have finally decided to jump on board. I expect from YPY to provide an opportunity to connect with other professionals in the industry and exchange ideas with other individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets, who can offer unique perspectives and insights into the superyacht industry. In addition, I hope to gain new knowledge and skills that can help me advance in my career. This could include attending workshops, seminars, or talks by industry experts, or participating in discussions on topics related to naval architecture, engineering, design, or other areas relevant to the superyacht industry.

WELCOME ON BOARD INGMAR📢

About you:
My Name is Ingmar, I work at . We are a very small department within the large Lürssen Group and act as a kind of shipping company for the yachts. The support for the ships ranges from accounting to crewing, procurement, compliance, insurance, operations and technology. That's where I come in and, as a technical inspector, I'm responsible for the technical support of the ships. I assist with any questions from the crew from the office, perform bunker orders, manage the Planned Maintenance Program and oversee all work, inspections and maintenance from shore. Once it goes to the shipyard, I help prepare it, create work lists, contact shipyards and am also on site for the shipyard stay.

How long have you been working in the industry and where did you work before?

Well, I did my ship mechanic training on container ships and subsequently obtained my C-patent (technical watch officer for all types of propulsion and services) in Flensburg. After a period as a service technician at Alfa Laval, I switched to inspection at my training shipping company. After that, there were intermediate stops at German Naval Yards in Kiel and Schiffsdieseltechnik Kiel. Since April 2021, I have been with

What fascinates you about our industry and what drives you?

I am particularly fascinated by the incredible technical effort that goes into every yacht, no matter how big it is. For outsiders, a luxury yacht means splendor, but luxury is also reflected in the technical equipment. State-of-the-art propulsion systems, stabilizers, exhaust gas cleaning systems, huge HVAC systems, gigantic AVIT equipment. Being able to deal with that and help maintain the operation of these almost immeasurable assets is what makes the job so attractive to me.

How did you hear about YPY and what do you expect from this network?

Thanks to a captain on board of our ships, who is a member himself, and his persistent way of persuading me to join again and again, I have now taken this step and I‘m happy to be on board.

WELCOME ON BOARD CARINA 📢

About you:

My name is Carina Bader,I work for Rolls-Royce Solutions GmbH (formerly: MTU) in Friedrichshafen at the beautiful Lake Constance as Sales Manager Yacht Business. There, I look after shipyards in Germany and the Netherlands and contribute to the implementation of complex and promising sales projects and support the translation of complex customer requirements into sustainable technical solutions. I grew up on Lake Constance and also completed my training as an industrial clerk at Rolls-Royce Solutions. Since 2019, I have been completing a part-time distance learning course in business administration and management with a focus on project management and am about to write my bachelor's thesis, which I hope to hand in during the first quarter of 2023.

How long have you been working in the industry and where did you work before?

I have been working in sales since April 2022. At Rolls-Royce Solutions (RRS), however, I have already been working since 2017. I come from the service sector and most recently looked after customers from the marine and industrial sectors who have a maintenance contract with us. That's also where I had my first contact with the industry.

What fascinates you about our industry and what drives you?

What fascinates me about the industry is how many different areas, with the most diverse people, work together to realize a yacht and that every project and every shipyard is different. It drives me to satisfy the customer and to find solutions together, which are developed in partnership.

How did you hear about YPY and what do you expect from this network?

A colleague at work, who would also like to be a member of the YPY (but unfortunately is already too old), made me aware of the YPY. I am looking forward to make many new contacts within the network and to get an exciting project-independent exchange. From this, I also hope to gain an even better insight into the industry and to better understand contexts.

WELCOME ON BOARD MARGARITA 📢

About you:
My name is Margarita Amam and I founded IMS GMBH in 2014 to provide yachting with innovative solutions from build to operations. We were the first to develop an app for the on board hospitality operations and since then have pioneered also methods of surface care and hygiene concepts with sustainability & performance at heart.

How long have you been working in the industry and where did you work before?
As active crew and Owner’s PA I served for 8 years travelling across the globe. As a certified hospitality manager I worked my way up in the industry for over 10 years working across Germany and New York prior to joining yachting.

What fascinates you about our industry and what drives you?
The expectation and level of quality that is demanded by clients sparked my interest because I do love a challenge and because I am a dedicated hard worker I too strive for perfection. It’s comparable to an Athlete’s mindset. Want the best. Get the best.
Work hard for it. Be the best!!

How did you hear about YPY and what do you expect from this network?
By nature I’m rather sceptical and yet very curious. So when I heard the positive things Martin Hager from Boote had to say, the kind & passionate words Maria Di Benedetto shared about YPY and the enthusiasm from Jan Ole Hagen from how can I let fear or hesitation hinder me. So I’m curious and enthusiastic and grateful that I met these 3 already and I’m keen to meet the others.
