**UPDATE** The Begegnungsfest has now been re-scheduled for Sunday, 4 October!!! We will try to be there!!

🎭 We were very disappointed to learn that this year's **Begegnungsfest**, scheduled for **13 September**, has been cancelled.

For us, the Begegnungsfest, organized by the Bundestadt Bonn, has always been much more than just another event on the calendar. It's a wonderful opportunity for people from every corner of the world to come together, meet one another, and celebrate the rich cultural diversity that makes Bonn such a special city.

As an international city and home to numerous organisations, including the United Nations, Deutsche Post und DHL, Deutsche Telekom, and many other international agencies, Bonn continues to welcome people from many different countries and cultures. This diversity is one of the city's greatest strengths, and events like the Begegnungsfest provide a unique opportunity to build friendships, discover new cultures, and celebrate the many things we have in common.

As an English-speaking community theatre, The Bonn Players have always believed that the arts have the power to bring people together. Theatre creates connections, encourages understanding, and reminds us that our shared humanity is far greater than the things that divide us.

We sincerely hope that the Begegnungsfest will return next year. Bonn deserves opportunities like this—places where people can meet, learn from one another, and continue building the welcoming, international community for which our city is so well known.

Here's to seeing the Begegnungsfest back in 2027. ❤️

🎉 Wonderful news for the Brotfabrik Bühne Bonn! 🎉

The Förderverein Brotfabrik Bühne Bonn has announced that, thanks to the incredible generosity of our audiences, **The Bonn Players** and our sister group **Theater Rampös** have together raised an amazing **€3,500** towards the purchase of new stage elements.

That means **seven new stage blocks** will soon be added to the theatre—a fantastic investment in the future of the Brotfabrik Bühne and the many community theatre groups that call it home.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended our productions, donated so generously, and helped support this important initiative. Your kindness will benefit not only our own productions but countless performances in the years to come.

A heartfelt thank you also to our friends at Theater Rampös for joining us in championing this cause. Together, we've shown what our theatre community can achieve when we work together towards a common goal.

Over the past five days, you joined us at *Waiting for God* and endured some truly sweltering temperatures in the Brotfabrik Bühne Bonn Despite the heat, you laughed, applauded, and supported us with incredible enthusiasm at every performance.

**After the Curtain Falls on Waiting for God**

The final bow, the last applause,
The lingering echo of the cause
That brought us here through weeks and months—
Through forgotten lines and countless runs.

No more lines to learn by heart,
No blocking maps, no actor's chart,
No hurried irons late at night,
No searching for a missing light.

And yet the quiet feels unkind,
For something precious stays behind.
The jokes, the tears, the bonds we made,
The little world that we created.

Exhaustion settles in our bones,
Relief at last, as tension goes.
But twinned with it, a gentle grief—
The bittersweetness of relief.

For theatre lives a fleeting life:
A shared endeavour, joy and strife.
For just a while we build a home,
Then strike the set and let it go.

But actors know, as crews do too,
The ending is not truly true.
Even as the curtain falls,
Another story softly calls.

Soon scripts appear, auditions start,
New characters invade the heart.
And once again we'll learn the dance—

The lines.
The moves.
The second chance.

For theatre is a wheel that turns,
A fire that fades, yet always burns.

So let us rest.
And let us mourn.
For even as one show is gone,

The next is quietly being born!

🥵🎭 Another hot night at Bayview!

Last night's performance of *Waiting for God* took place in sizzling temperatures. Thankfully, the laughter flowed just as freely as the perspiration, and our wonderful audience responded brilliantly to the humour, wit, and heart of the play.

If it's any consolation, we can assure you that it's even hotter under the stage lights!

With the audience laughing along every step of the way, the heat became more than worth enduring, and once again we were reminded just how special live theatre can be.

And now there is just **one performance left!**

This afternoon's final matinee gives you one last opportunity to visit Bayview Retirement Village and experience this hilarious and heartwarming production. The cast and crew are looking forward to giving our final audience a performance to remember.

🌡️🎭 33°C outside, but the show still went on!

Last night's performance of *Waiting for God* took place in temperatures of around 35°C, making it a real challenge for both cast and crew. Under the hot stage lights, remembering lines, changing costumes, and keeping our energy levels high was no small feat!

Our heartfelt thanks go to our wonderful audience, who stayed with us despite the heat and rewarded us with laughter, warmth, and wonderfully enthusiastic reactions throughout the evening. Your support and responsiveness helped carry us through every scene.
